This, or Pawnshop's 1009 with the magnetic version, is usually Tail End Charlie when the LSMVPA is on the move.
To comply with Texas law, all the flashing lights are amber, the clear lenses on the front are spotlights only. You can have flashing (NOT rotating) red lights to the rear so long...
Gerald, to say the least your V will be unique! It will definitely be a cool looking vehicle.
Having seen your past creations, I have a pretty good idea of what the "ears" will support. ;-)
Cheers
Robert, here is how the M79 was mounted in the V100, looks like maybe what is in Driver's picture. Just a large rubber coated spring clip and a standard vehicle butt stock holder.
The clip has a little bent tab thingy at the bottom rear.
I'm trying to find a source for the clip parts...
Here are a couple of GL pics showing another standard military type. I have one of these in my parts pile waiting to go on my M101. It has the same three-prong retainer as in Warthog's pics.
A buddy of mine had several M101s with these, some were mounted over the tongue, some were mounted...
Uncle does such things to pay for "black" projects. If you remember in the past, most of the $600 toilet seats, screwdrivers, etc. were bought through Lockheed. This was to pay for the F-117 stealth program. The Gubmint has to show that they paid the right amount of money to Lockheed, but not...
I just watched some driver training videos for the M939 series trucks (and no, I will never admit to doing that at work...;-)).
On start up, instruction was specifically to turn Battery switch on, then the Ignition switch.
Shut down instruction was Ignition off, then Battery off.
Yes, I...
A manual (-10 maybe?) actually does say something about Master switch on-Ignition on, Ignition off-Master switch off, I remember reading it and having a warning about damaging the charging system.
It was many moons ago, so I don't recall exactly where I read it, but I always do my 813 that way...
Welcome aboard and thank you for sharing your pictures, they are great. [thumbzup]
Anything you would care to share of your time on these would be greatly appreciated. Hearing y'alls stories adds life to these vehicles.
I have spent the last three years working on restoring a V. Known...
Guilty as charged!! :-D
All are early models with two forward vision blocks, and several are the very early square-wheel-well ones with one-piece rear doors.

What appears to be a converted M52 with a ballast box of sandbags on it.
Picture is one posted by passed member Armyman30years, who is perched over the fuel tank. RIP good sir.

The landing leg on the M105A3 is flimsy. I would maybe roll mine empty on a paved surface with it, carefully, but not under other circumstances.
The military have a MWO that adds a brace and larger pin to it, but they still seem to break.

Bill, this is a very early version of the V100.
Major items of note are the turret (look particularly at the area around the mantle, and the hatch angle), the squared off wheel wells, one-piece rear door, no side door for the engine bay, etc..
Detail differences would take all day to list...
Sounds like a smart lady! Get her one...
My mum wants a go at driving mine (she is 74). She has always kept notes on what aeroplanes and trucks she has seen about so I could tell her what they were. Just gotta love mum!
Cheers
Saudi has a bunch of V150's.
Unfortunately, they use 5-ton axles, thus 10-lug wheels, so no go on a V100 as replacements. :-(
Might be able to get a transfer case out of there, someone with more knowledge would have to comment on whether it could be used/adapted for a 100.
Cheers
