My first deuce did not have a battery tray or batteries in it when I picked it up. Just went to Auto Zone and got some J hooks and a battery hold down bar and used a flat piece of plastic that I bolted to the crossmember.
I used some real cheap and small auto batteries and always switched...

thanks for the offer, between you, me and Devin I hope we can get it moving. Devin said he would go take a look before I can out, to give me a heads up on what repairs are needed.
Maybe we can have a little get together before I take off.
Wade
I thought maybe this could serve for all trucks/vehicles not just deuces. I just listed the ones I am familiar with, hence deuces.
Heres another just posted in a different post

I looked around the site and didn't find very much as far as a dealer/parts list goes.
So here is my list, please add some you know or point me in the right direction.

Clark trucks...
Man I hope it doesn't take that long! Oh well I will just give me more time to get all the tools/supplies in order.
So how do you tell gasser fenders from non-gasser fenders?
Got a shipping quote from the recomended shippers on GL
Quote was $2600 plus $650 loading charge at Port Hueneme! Yikes! I guess I am driving it home.
On the pictures from GL, the #6 picture shows the steering shaft and some sort of heat sink? with a small wire and a large hose/wire attached...
thanks for the kind words guys. Yes, I have to wait on my EUC so it will be a while until I can pick it up.
Devin - thanks for the info and offer, I will send you a PM.
bids
Ditto on that, I just got done bidding on some trucks off of GL. There was one close to me up at Fort Carson CO. I quit bidding because I figured someone on here was bidding on it.
I am all for a private forum for bidding on these auctions
Wade
new deuce owner
Mapquest says 840 door to door and my truck gets maybe 15 MPG. Looks like about $260 for gas for my truck. Figure 8 MPG for the deuce one way looks like $280 for a grand total of $540 just in gas. Shipping has to at least twice that so maybe a road trip is in order after all the paper work is...
Well I won one over at Port Hueneme CA. I was surprised how low the prices were. I threw caution to the wind and bid without looking at them so the one I won probably doenst have a tranny or something like that.
Anyway the question is - how much do you think it will run me to ship it about...
My first deuce had no master switch, just a generic ignition switch in its place. It came that way from GL. Of course when I picked it up, there was no key for it so I just went down to Auto Zone and got another switch with key and replaced it.
rflegal - off topic, but where at in New Mexico are you? Let me know how it goes with the DMV as far as the title chase goes, I am hoping to purchase another deuce soon, maybe from GL with no title.
good luck
I saw some of these on GL and am wondering about using it behind a deuce or a 5 ton truck.
Do these have brake and wiring connections compatable with the deuce?
are they air actuated brakes?
GL lists them as 22 feet long and 7000lbs, is this correct?
Any other info on them?
I am basically...
When I bought my first deuce from GL in 2001 they flipped the SF97 into an Arizona title(thats where they are based from) but I guess now they aren't even issueing a SF97.
If you bid and win a truck just get a bill of sale or something saying you bought it from them and your states DMV...
