Anyone ever seen a steering wheel like this in a CUCV. I am talking OEM? I have seen 2 so far in the past 30 years. I know this one was original. I have it for the past 20 years. My Son put a tilt column in his truck today. Ever seen that type of steering wheel? We have had that one for years...
I had a left turn signal on Crown of Thorns M1009 that was intermittently inoperable. It would work fine on the 4 ways but the left turn was dim on the left rear only. I switched flashers and then the 4 way would act the same way as the turn signals. I switched both flashers and eliminated the...
Even if the fuse is good it could be loose in the holder. Check the fuse on the right side of the fuse box 1/2 way up. 30 amp. It may appear melted a bit and loose in the connection. Report back.
Today I took the time to wash/scrub The Mule M1009. I don't wash it very often. It sits out in the weather most times and gets driven year round. It still looks pretty good having been painted 2 years ago. It is fairly straight and clean. The paint is very hard to keep spotless. I use a light 3M...
M1009 stock rear is 1 1/4" pinion yoke nut. Use an electric/air impact socket. Mark the socket hit the trigger slowly and count the revolutions to remove. Put the nut back on the same way and you will be good. NOT 100% perfect. But good enough. It has worked for me. If you go wild tightening the...
Break the glass ball in the return line on top of the injection pump. It will get you by for a short time. But yes it sounds like a rebuilt injection pump is in order. I like the way that rebuilt injection pump fixes a lot of ills and gets the truck down the road in a new way. East fix for less...
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/archive/index.php/t-90769.html Try that. Or go to a paint store and look at the thousands of paint samples they have and choice a color.
Are the transmission to engine bolts tight? Are the Torque converter bolts tight? That would create both issues. Have you checked the oil? I would check all the fasteners. These are my ideas from afar. Good Luck.
Old thread. Anyone ever run BFG Long Trail AT's. I have a 3/4 tread set of 4 in 31 X 10.5 X 15 I want to run off road. I have been running bad tires and getting by. Wanted to hear opinions on the BFG Long trail TA.
Anti seize and plastic? Not sure that is effective. Plain vasoline / wheel bearing grease would do it. But the rust on the buckets and the core support is the real culprit. This is another place the 2" rolok disc comes into play. Polished up , greased and done with it.
Tonight when I got home from work I wanted to get something done on Easter Find M1008. So this is what I did. I will keep rolling on this project now. I still have a full time job and lots of grass to mow. I bought some A C Delco brake parts right from the GM dealer. The slide locks for the...
An M1009 winding out at highway speed? Not likely. They will do 90 all day no problem. They have 3:08 gears from stock. You could put 2:73 gears in it. Not sure. Someone must have changed the gears. The 4;56 gears are way to low for highway. They will make you hear crickets at 65. But the stick...
Weld it. Make it twice as thick at the weak spots. Add material/steel to the front. I wish I had the ones I threw away. I bought the last few new ones I could 10 years ago. I found 2 cracked ones while cleaning up my scrap pile. I am going to weld them and make a few new pieces to double it up...
No I was misled that A C Delco ones where the OEM ones. So I called the GM dealer and referenced the A C Delco part numbers. He said OEM GM ones are discontinued. He also said many people think they are buying genuine GM parts when they reference the A C Delco parts as a comparison. No harm...
