It makes perfect sense if you somehow shorted a wire and blew a fuse. It's possible. Check all the fuses.

It will work. But ether will also. As long as you are not spray painting the inside of the intake. A little huff while someone is cranking and magic spray works wonders. But I would pull the glow plugs and bench test them.

Where is that relay located on the M1010? I have several parts bodies for M1010 units.

I guess anything can go bad. I am guessing you are talking about the temperature sensor on the back top left. Yes they go bad. But if you have the system bypassed you will not need that anyway.

If you were to but a battery cut off on a CUCV. You could put a big HD Cole Hersee? ? on the single cable going to the battery and it could be anywhere you wanted it to be mounted. And flip it off if something starter related was happening that you were not wanting to happen. I never done it but...
