Brake problem - frozen anchor pins

We used gallons of Kroil at work. It was the only thing that would get the main turbine fasteners apart. Used what is called bolt heaters powered by power plant 440VAC 3 phase to make heat for daze on end. Some would not come apart due to somebody used nickel based Nuclear grade anti-seize...

    New to me A3

There may be a standing buy order for any good M35A3 from Minkus as they can't get drivers that can handle a stick and do the job. It is a very good truck that will not be allowed to die due to constant necessary use. Look up Onion Minkus, they put dump beds on them and use the heck out of them...

Brake problem - frozen anchor pins

As stated the Kroil is your friend. Only thing I ever saw go up hill, like dye up a celery in grade school. Give the Kroil time to work. The eccentrics are fozen but they are not really really closely machined so it will come apart, You might try a chain or really small strap wrench or something...

    How to repack wheel bearings?

After much research, and I mean a lot of research, I serviced all the axles with new copper squish washers and this lube. I got the VV829 from Amazon as it was shipped to here as is still available. I put no grease in the truck except what the TM said to use which is GAA. Yes, I bought two...

mixed dot 3 and 5 brake fluid

from 01022013 welldigger post #8 O and simple test for brake fluid is pour some brake fluid into an empty water bottle. Then add some water and shake. If you have dot 5 it will separate out and float on top after a while. If you have dot 3 or 4 then they won't separate since dot 3 and 4 absorb...

    M35a2 White Smoke

If you going to do all that just put a parker pump in it with a proper new hose. That will give a few more psi to the booster pump. Did you clean the primary and secondaries yet?

Hydraulic head seals replaced and now it doesn’t like to run.

It could just be that "Automatic Rough" one senses when flying out over the ocean for a while. You will not know "how it runs" for at least 50 gallons thruput. Put some fuel in there to make it happy, certainly not a tank of the current "no lubrication" flavor stuff. Get the batteries...

Hydraulic head seals replaced and now it doesn’t like to run.

And another "Happy customer" There is no other place in the world with this wealth of information. I curious how big the SS database is now, has it gone over 500GB? I could not have fixed my truck without SS people. Thank You all.

    M35A2 wheel locked up

Once it is found that an incomplete brake job was done last time then new owner gets to fix all that. But then again does not have to mess with it for years after proper fixes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZUl2EWPrTY&feature=youtu.be

Hydraulic head seals replaced and now it doesn’t like to run.

I am far away and happy you got the truck going good. If you use that so called diesel fuel from the gas station then must put other stuff in there too. A few quarts of new dino oil would help or homemade seafoam. Don't even put any of that new fangled gasoline in it.

mixed dot 3 and 5 brake fluid

It is just compliance with page two and page three in the attached. The wheel cylinders are the low points in the system. That is where the water will separate from the DOT 3 and goto. Purple DOT 5 is better stuff. I found the motive power bleeder and that NAPA one man check valve thing made...
