GROUP BUY: Deuce rare hood handles f/s

The fording kit isn't going to happen anytime soon. There are hundreds of the kits still in the supply systems. It is still an active part and is not classified as obsolete yet according to the vendor I talked to. Thus, the price is what it is, and that's $715 plus shipping out of florida. I...

    F-4 Phantom picture thread

I left Ft Worth TX at the end of 99. We were just getting the F-4's passing through to be missile targets. It was because they were getting rid of the F-104's. Phantoms are bad-a$$ed. We found one in a junkyard in WI in the late 80's. Awesome A/C.[thumbzup]

    Trailer Recovery FL to LA

GE, In 05 or 06 He went on a cross country trip and lost his high gear in the transfer case. Came back from Kentucky (I believe) with the T/C in low. He was driving a M109 towing a big trailer with a dozer on it. I'd have it towed if I were you.[thumbzup] Jim

    Who really made your Deuce???

First off, GL doesn't know. 2nd, If you look at the order of company transfers, it is pretty obvious, who took over who. Last, the truck items DID change. They're minor mods and you will see it after seeing deuces for awhile- (rounded fenders, offset wipers, heater intake locations, firewall...

Rookie question new to the deuce!

If you can't drain the air tanks you need to read more before driving one! Welcome to SS too. Read the TM's before getting in it![thumbzup]

    Check those wheels!

That's why I use my air chuck with the 6' hose from Gemplers. Always use it. I had a split rim blow on a forklift, it sounded like a shotgun blast. If someone was standing in front of it, they would have died. Don't play with tires.

    Cucv/ GL questions

I would guess early/mid 90's for the first one. Posting claims to ones sold a couple weeks ago doesn't remotely answer the question asked. They have been sold WELL over 10 years so far, prolly 15+. CUCV's are still in the active forces unlike deuces. I'd expect alot this year: Next??????2cents

    Who really made your Deuce???

If you do a search for deuce manufacturers, there are alot... Somewhere around 12 or so. Kaiser-Jeep is definately an early 71 builder. David Doyle did a MVM article awhile back (anyone have the date handy?), it will clear this up.
