JR: See the other post...Ethan just passed away. We should let his fiance know that he has cargo covers in AL that he might have paid for. I have a truck waiting for me there. I'd be happy to throw the covers on free of charge and will get them to his fiance...or we could work out a way to...
If you have the inclination, replace the entire front axle assembly. You can get them brand new in a crate for $375. John Winslow in NC has them. You will have a brand new axle from hub to hub including the brakes and some of the steering components (at least those that are on the axle)...
I have an M925A2 that came out of Ft. Jackson, SC. As you face the truck from the front, the passenger side bumper marking reads TDC FJ. I know this means Tactical Doctrine Command, Ft. Jackson. The driver's side reads TAB 061. Does anyone know what TAB 061 might mean? Thanks!
On second thought, if the trip is only 100 miles, ante up and pay to have it shipped. Even with fuel prices, how much could it cost? $300 ($3/mile)? $400 ($4/mile)? I'd rather spend $400 than take the time and effort to remove the wheels. Having it shipped will eliminate the risks and...
I've seen them labeled in big black letters...MOGAS. Depending upon the era, the lettering could have been white...I am not certain about the earlier paint schemes.
You could always remove the wheels. That is a lot of work, but you'd guarantee that you won't have a problem. If you take out an overpass, you'll be in for a lot more expense than just losing the deuce. My $.02...
Some sites allow you to start them and some don't. I'd definitely ask first. I will add that I was told by the guys at Chambersburg that they no longer allow people to start the trucks. Apparently, someone who had no clue about the trucks hit the starter with the truck in gear. The truck...
Is the front of the heater that is on MILTRUCKMAN's dump made for ducting that would go to an air scoop like those used with the hot water heaters? Also, I've seen two types of fuel burning heaters. The one that is on MILTRUCKMAN's truck and the one in the attached picture. Is one better than...
RE: M816 For Sale
Nice looking rig, Jason. Considering I've seen M816s on GL bringing $10K+ (plus the 10% bidder's premium), and those trucks are truly unknowns even if they say RUNS, your price is very fair. Man, $13K (without the tools) for a truck that someone can test drive seems...
While they will be getting rid of the M939 series trucks at some point...and possibly not at all. I know for a fact that foreign countries are mainly interested in the 900s. I have heard directly from someone who exports to foreign govts with a license to do so that they are ONLY interested in...
Out of all of the M35A3s that have been released over the last few years, I can only remember one truck that was truly in rough shape. If they are just integrating the A3s into the Reserve and National Guard units, why are such cherry trucks coming out? The trucks that came out of PA recently...
Take this for what it is worth...a rumor from a fairly well placed source...but I heard from the same guy that told me about the M35s and related variants being out of the system by early next year, that all of the M809 series trucks will be out of the system by early 2010. I suspect that...
Check with HALFTRACK (Jason)...he's got all kinds of stuff and, if he does not have it, he may know who you should check with. He lives near New Orleans.
