Mike, I would not plan on it. If you or anyone else wants a deuce, now is the time...or buy retail. I, for one, will DEFINITELY be looking for a really clean deuce this year. Take that for what it is worth. If you want to try to bid on the 1's and 2's that may happen to trickle out in the...
By the way, great score on that trailer. Now you need to get the end rack from Ethan (BUILDER77) to complete the trailer. Sometimes they go high...sometimes they stay low. I've bought trailers for $70, $80 and $90...beautiful trailers. I was watching yesterday and most in PA were over $200.
Don: Maybe I'll see you at Meade as I have two M105s waiting for me there, too. I love the trailers, but even I wonder why I have so many. If I think that, you can imagine what the wife tells me!
RE: Re: RE: What does CTIS offer that you can
I have spoken to a guy in the NC AR NG who got several fresh M923A2s/M925A2s straight from a complete overhaul and he said he could not get one of the trucks' CTIS to work. He said they plug them off so the inspecting officers THINK the CTIS is...
...and they'll all be gone (out of the system) by early next year or so I was told by someone that knows more than most of us about this issue. I cannot reveal my sources unfortunately...
RE: What does CTIS offer that you can
With all this said, the CTIS has to work to be relevant. While I love the M939A2 series of trucks, the CTIS is junk. I've owned four M939A2 series trucks and NONE of them had working CTIS!!! I have a friend who has had multiple M35A3s and none of them...
James, get ready for some competion...from me, other SS members that I know, several dealers and a host of companies with commercial applications. I HOPE to get one...but they will probably for for close to $20K. I won't be bringing one home for that price, I can assure you that.
Congratulations, Dave! Check with Idaho Motorpool. They will most certainly have a winch kit. I shudder to think what they would want for one, though. The most I ever paid for a winch kit was $1,100. Personally, I don't think you should pay more than $1,250.
Bjorn, I saw a test video comparing several of the vehicles we own in various off-road settings. I was thoroughly impressed with the M656/M757 trucks. They did almost as well as tracked vehicles in mud, even out-performing them in certain situations (the 60 degree slope and the tank trap come...
AREA: I suggest you stick with the stock tire size. Larger tires may look more cool and may give you a higher top road speed, but you will lose significant torque. This loss of power will be a severe detriment when trying to tow other trucks. Personally, I'd suggest keeping the 1100s on it...
Ernie, welcome aboard. I met you and your Dad through Joe Young at one of the South Jersey Mil Veh club's treks through the Pine Barrens. How is your dad doing? He's got the carry-all, right? Any how, welcome to SteelSoldiers.
No need to worry about why people get upset. The site rules are pretty clear. Like it or loathe it...no posting upcoming auction information. If you are unclear what this represents, check with a moderator. I am sure you meant no harm by posting this info.
My deuces mainly sit and serve as homes to many, many bees nests. With the child just turning one year old, and trying to get my house on the market, I just don't have much time to play with 'em. When I do, however, it is mainly just driving for fun. I rarely work them, but did use my XM818...
I agree with Ethan...no need to post any auction information. In fact, it is in direct violation of this forum's rules. I also agree with the poster that mentioned that, just because we don't post something to this list, it does not mean no one knows about it. I saw it the day they posted it...
