It is very likely the lock. Mine was fine one day, locked up the next. The keys all still work in my other 1009.
Mine are just show trucks, so if there is anything of value in them, I am always nearby. A lock is just to keep an honest man honest anyway, crooks can get in no matter what...
The USAF codes are pretty easy, in this case 90 is the year the Air Force put your trailer on inventory (it is usually also the vehicle year model, but not necessarily), K means it is a tactical vehicle, and 65 means it is the 65th vehicle put on the USAF inventory that year.
Cheers
Cool, thanks.
I did things the easy way- Bought a new lock for $17, Reloader64 showed up with all the right tools and knowledge, we (by that I mean he) had it done in less than 45 minutes. Complicated but easy job if you know what you are doing and have the right gear.
Scott did all the work...
Cool!! I figured it would be simple once you got inside the steering column, but getting in there is one of those things that I don't know how to do. I was going to try some light morning reading in the manuals today, but tapping your knowledge is probably much better. :)
I did try all my...
I will await the answer to this one also.
My G/F called me and said she couldn't start the 1009 to move it so she could weed-eat the driveway without getting grass crud on it (good G/F!), said the key wouldn't turn. Sure enough, when I got home I tried it and it is locked solid. Tried...
Pic one is my M813 about a year to 18 months after some serious touch ups. The hood is still original paint, the rest of the front area (bed forward) is Rapco/Gillespie except the black. The black on the bumper was cheap crap and faded out really quickly, repainted it after this picture.
Pic...
It was a major pain, but the shifting now seems to be all tuned up and pretty smooth.
While that was going on, all the turret basket parts were test fitted to make sure everything will fit okay. They couldn't be installed yet because that would make it pretty much impossible to work inside...
Welcome aboard Knightmare.
Your truck sounds like it is doing what it should. Third at 35 is actually low compared to most, both mine wait until around 45 to go into 3rd.
There is a FAQ thread in the CUCV section, and posts on just about any aspect of 1009s and the other CUCVs, and the...
I have been trying to get the V100 ready to bring up to the show, but I just can't get it finished in time. Next year, I guess...:(
I'll be there without it though!
Cheers
Darn it, sorry you are having trouble with it still! In the long run, it is most likely worth it though, it is a very nice truck and you have put a lot of effort into it already.
On a selfish note - I was looking forward to a respite from the heat Sunday. :(
Cheers
Preston, I have had pretty good luck reaching up inside the body from below with a long pair of channel lock pliers and holding the nut-serts (read- evil creations of the devil..) while turning the bolts. Helps if you find someone fairly skinny to do it, big lads aren't getting a hand up in...
I imagine JimK won't be happy to see this! He has been hunting for an M113 hull to make a Big Kahuna style gun truck replica.
And I believe the folks talking about nicking these from the sea floor are joking, Wrench Wench certainly was, so we shouldn't get upset with them.
Cheers
Papabear, at NTC last month I was surprised to hear that whop-whop of Hueys amongst the Blackhawk/Apache thrumming. We had two of them involved in the exercise for four days, they were the "other guys" air support.
Great pictures LT, thanks for sharing. I miss those days.
What does the back...
The -245- manuals are for the V100, they won't do you much, if any, good with a V150 (very few common parts).
And on that note, if you do find a -245-10 for the V, let me know please, I want a copy!! Haven't been able to find one. I have the -24 and -24P.
Cheers
The IRAC M2HB is indeed high quality and looks very good. It is made of aluminium.
Up side of the aluminium is that it only weighs about 45 pounds, the down side is you have to be careful to shoot short bursts so you don't melt the barrel (as warned in the instructions from the manufacturer)...
I've seen the one you are talking about, it had the complete schemes for the M35 and M813 et al, along with M880 series.
I had a modeling book with some of those schemes in it in the 80's, but darned if I can find it now! It is probably one of the many books I have loaned out over the years...
Cool! I knew I got it from someone on here, but couldn't remember who. It nicely illustrated the pattern though.
The early pattern looks like it was thinly sprayed onto an overall green truck. Most I have seen, like on mine, the black and brown have faded or rubbed off to almost nothing, but...
