Agree with Coffey1, something is not making proper connection in the battery box most likely. Don’t attempt any more starts until you are 100% sure you have 12 and 24 volts in the proper places.
David Doyle probably knows the most about this, here are my observations. My ‘66 275A2 for sure never had a stack, it had the muffler near the transfer case with a downspout. The 1970’s contract trucks did have the skinny stack from the factory. The ‘63 275A1 which I sold to SETOYOTA had a...
Only difference is the A1 has the LDS427 turbosupercharged engine with no muffler and bottom exhaust while the A2 has the LD465 normally aspirated engine with muffler and bottom exhaust. Of course both models would have received the LDT engine with stack exhaust at rebuild time.
Thanks Carnac, this is incredibly valuable information for anyone restoring a M series vehicle. Even if your truck’s serial is not listed, you can easily extrapolate to get either close or spot on to your truck’s registration number (hood number=USA number=Army registration number). No more...
High quality = Sherwin Williams CARC military paint sprayed from a pressure pot.
Half assed = home depot house paint sprayed with a harbor freight airless
The brake light and turn light are the same filament, so this means the lamp unit and the chassis harness are OK. This problem is often caused by the turn switch handle.
The other issue is a short circuit SOMEWHERE in the lighting circuit on the truck. It could be anywhere. See if it only...
NOT having a blackout light kit? It's a cool accessory but usually a hacked up mess after the fire depts. get done with them, is that why you consider NOT having one a bonus?
I was really fond of mine until one night I was pulling a heavy equipment trailer with lots of clearance lights. The...
I don't think that will work. The FMTVs are mostly 12 volt. That little yellow terminal on the regulator is not designed for the entire vehicle load, only for the transmission on a HMMWV.
Yes like zero OR infinite. This is an analog input to the controller, it sends out probably 5 volts and looks for 5 volts to be coming back or not. Since this is no current, even the slightest resistance in the circuit due to corrosion etc will cause your symptom.
