RWH is correct, if the water pump is not leaking there is no logical reason to replace it, the new pump may not last as long as the original and there is always the can of worms syndrome
Make sure you have a right and a left, ballistic windshields have a plastic sheath on the inside surface so they are not interchangeable like the thin glass windshields.
Interesting, so you are saying there is no large solid pulley that will fit the ECV?
I guess maybe if you live and die by the book.
Not being listed does not mean it will not work, I Have the pulley listed above on my ECV engine and it works perfectly with the OEM ECV belt.
I have no idea where...
Sorry SPUR gear
But
" A pinion is a round gear—usually the smaller of two meshed gears—used in several applications, including drivetrain and rack and pinion systems"
The parts book calls it a spur gear but calling it a pinion is not incorrect.
I have the final drive torn down on my little 350...
This would be what the basic tool looks like , this would be used in a shop press for the smaller pinion bearings.
But for the spindle bearing the wheel flange is too large to use a shop press so you would need a setup like this.
I would strongly suggest taking the spindles and pinions to an...
I doubt I was making more than 8-10MPH, 5K would not have moved that tow vehicle and trailer at all, your talking about 16-18K or so in soft sand
I know what it feels like to be on the end of a logging chain and that is what it felt like, (Edit I started off roading long before there ever was a...
Well of course on the 4th weekend I had to go to Port A,
I did not take my big flag because I was in the mood for some jackassery
The first pull of the day was downright boring.
The second not so much, I came across a cluster of 1 ton duallies, three of them all chained together, two of them...
The part with the seals in it that goes over the rod is called a gland.
I have allot of stuff around the farm with different types of cylinders, some with 2-3 sections, I have a knuckle truck right now with a blown seal, the rod is almost 4" I need to get someone to help me with that one as it...
One issue is the starter solenoid when the contacts separate in the switch that huge coil in the the solenoid creates a large high voltage reverse polarity pulse (that pesky reverse EMF I am always preaching about) if the contacts do not move apart fast enough OR far enough from each other or...
I picked up a nice embossed one from Austin (beltfed) on Fleabay that I put on the DuraVee
It of course would not be correct to paint the letters (read I am just too dang lazy and uncoordinated  )
Welcome to the forum, common wisdom is any keyed switch will cost you dearly in the end, none are made to take the loads and voltage the HMMWV puts on the run switch, it is said that many expensive starters and EESS boxes have died at the hands of a keyed switch.
Also put a pressure gauge on it and see if there is a pressure drop in 2nd, if it was the A solenoid (1-2 shift) it would likely act up in 4th when fully warmed up.
There of course will be a pressure drop during the shift but it should recover to about the same pressure as 1st.
Otherwise it...
