If I can talk myself into it my "firetruck" is gonna get painted OD. The problem is the paint and lettering on my 715 is in such good shape right now I hate to ruin it.
When did that happen I never even noticed. I hate to see this site lose ad. dollars. I started this thread in hopes enough people would speak up and say the same thing and show GL how much they are losing by placing a $150 min on some stuff.
This minimum bid stuff is stupid. I see tons of stuff I'd like to bid on and would gladly pay more than scrap prices for but not the $150 min. GL wants. Why let it go to the big scrap pile when it doesnt sell, and bring pennies when it could bring $20, $30, $40 per lot. I just dont get it?
Is there any "how-to" info on this? I'm looking at getting a trailer and need it to dump so I dont have to shovel out the dirt and mulch I plan on hauling with it. Im looking for how the cylinder is mounted and how the hinge points are built.
Would this work with a bigger trailer? Like a...
Check with some VFD's aroound your area sometimes you might get lucky and find they have scrap piles with parts removed from the trucks they receive. Ask me how I know:wink:.
It says motor wheel on it, but why the different chamfers? I thought maybe it was for duals but the dish doesnt stick out far enough. The rims would be touching.
Does anyone know what this wheel came from? Both wheels were laying in the back of the truck (M715) when I got it from the surplus auction. The one on the right looks stock but the one on the left, the lug holes have every other hole cupped the other direction. Both wheels have the same company...
Wrecker parts are junk. Just send the truck to me and Ill remove all the parts you dont need so you wont have to bother with it and Ill send it back stripped.:-D
If he gets close to what he's asking, its gonna make it hard for me not to bob mine and sell it so I can buy a wrecker.
That is a mean looking truck too.
The small shelter mounted on the truck? Looks like a S-250. They were used for a lot of things, mostly electronics. I wish my M818 had a longer wheelbase so I could mount my shelter like that. Anyone got any M814 framerails theyre not using?
I remember reading in a thread somewhere that you shouldnt let the truck roll backwards from a stop (like stopped at a stop sign on a hill) with a sprag gear box. Anyone know what thats about?
