    "Marble in blender" sound

I am always listening for odd sounds amongst the multitude of rackets my truck makes. Lately, when started cold and idling, there is a sound reminding me of a marble/pebble rattling around in a blender. The sound is independent of the transfer case engaged or not and independent of the clutch...

    Storage / Parking

OMG! What happened? Pheeewww! You got me there for a moment!

    rotating safety light

I second the LED beacon. Minimal draw and high visibility, especially at night. Oh, and: no gears to strip.

    Flasher not flashing

I second that. I had to swap out two times; the third one seems to be the charm.

Disaster Avoided Thanks to You Guys!

Holy ****e! You caught that in time. I notice your "Deuce thumb" with blood on it...typical side effect of working on the beast. The whole hub and bearing assembly looks like it benefitted from cleaning and regreasing.

    M35A2 Deuce fix it

Mine has a fully functional driver alertness system that prevents the operator from dozing off during long, slow rainy drives while listening to the monotonous clacking of the wipers. The military engineered minute openings in various windshield corners to allow small quantities of water to hit...

MA Medfield Day - Police Command Deuce pictures

These command posts typically do not get a whole lot of use. It would probably be good if the truck was stored inside, or at least under a roof. Cuts down on the typical rust, less leaves wedged everywhere and less of the associated cosmetic and technical issues.

LED headlight - low beam out

Unfortunately that is what I ended up doing as well. I had hoped that one of the electronics wizards on this site might find a fix for what appears to be a not uncommon problem on both LED head- and taillights. I also had a taillight lose half of its LEDs and someone answered that he has an oil...

    tire chains

Tri rails, even for the puny 9.00X20 tires are heavy and you will be crawling all the way behind each of the inner duals to put them on....in the snow..at night...in a snowstorm. Are you going all out into steep terrain in deep snow? Then you should chain up all 10 and have a winch. Same if you...

    Sticky Brake lights

It is really important that, when questions are asked with the intention to diagnose your problem, you answer them. For example, whether you have an air operated or hydraulic switch and whether you are sure that your brakes release fully/function normally. Usually, people asking these questions...

    Sticky Brake lights

Hydraulic switch or air operated switch? Are you sure that the brakes indeed release fully?

    LDT 465-1C engine sound check

    Sounds good to me!

    Soon to recover M35a2

Very sane conclusion. It is incredibly tempting to just start the truck and get it going. In the end, you may cause more work and expense for yourself. Patience is a virtue and if you flatbed it home and tear it apart before doing anything else, it is probably the better investment of time and...

what to do with this m342a2 dump

Resurrection of an old post. The OP never posted back; I wonder what became of his truck....

    M756A2 pipeline construction vehicle

Congrats!I was watching it on an auction site and hoped someone would buy it that knew how rare this truck is. Enjoy.

    Fuel tank cap

Negative. That is the correct cap. Non vented makes the cap watertight. Good for fording... If you do not ford, it does not matter which cap you use.

    paint job

Dashpanel looks to be an M35A3 panel.

    cargo cover for the m35a2??

15 seconds on Google, searching for the NSN number revealed: BOW AND TARP KIT, DROPSIDE 1 PAOOF 19207 11608799 for 800 series 5ton

Maybeyou could add pictures of the data plates (passenger side dash)?

    M35A3 Transmision question.

Yes, that is not unreasonable. A precaution (aside from sitting in the cab, anticipating that it MIGHT happen and hovering with the foot over the brake) would be to chain a second truck to the truck on the stands, as an anchor. There is at least one video on youtube where a truck takes off from...
