Well, I have been reading "Hot Hub" related threads (No Not Hot Tub!!) for about two hours now. My bottom line question is this. Is there a source to buy seals from that are good to install without modification?

Well, package arrived today and all was fine. I was concerned since my first order went into never-never land. From now on I will just place the order and wait. No way to track it so not much choice. I like their website and selection so it is worth it. Too bad they are only open 3 days...

The drain and fill plugs in my 3053 tranny have 9/16" hex plugs. Why is that? My transfer case has plugs with 1/2" square openings.

Not sure what the insurance problem is. I contacted Progressive and got the insurance card emailed to me within the hour. Cost me $440 per year. Not cheep but livable.

Should I install the PTO on the replacement tranny before I install it in the truck or do it after?

Unfortunately I have to change out my tranny in my newly purchased deuce. I have located a takeoff at a good price from a good source, however, it does not have a PTO. Will I be able to switch my PTO to the new tranny without a lot of heartache?
