I did a frame off restoration on a '50 F-1 pickup which required a lot of sandblasting. The best thing I found was a product called "Must For Rust" sold at Home Depot and Ace Hardware for sure. This stuff works great. It comes in a 32oz spray bottle and after you spray it on, it will keep the...
This puppy is big. The link is 2 1/2" in length and the diameter of the link er is 1/2" which is the same diameter as the cable. If your link width is 2 1/4", what it the link length. The end links on my lead are much larger as shown in the picture.
I recently purchase a deuce that came with a winch but no cable or lead. I purchased a cable and lead assembly from John Murray and it arrived today. (See attached photo) The length of the chain from spelter to hook is 32" which I believe is too short. The chain links are 2 1/2" long and 1/2" in...
Thanks for the TB reference. It was just what I needed. I search my TM's and past posts but came up empty. I could never have found this one. What is your secret?
I just got a bridge plate with numbers. I was able to research the numbering scheme but I cannot find info on installing the plate. I kit has bolts and three bracket, 2 short and 1 long.
Any help will be appreciated.
If they are as nice as this weeks auction truck in Peoria appeared to be, I am sure they are worth more money. I did not want to buy one without a preview. At $4K plus and drive to San Antonio, it would of been more $ than I needed to spend. I was also concerned about rust based on the...
Peoria Inspection
Thanks Art. The auction ended yesterday. The deuce must have been nice as it went for about $4,000. Too much for my blood.
Thanks anyway. Let me know if you ever need assistance in the San Antonio area.

Mystery solved. There was a glob of paint in the wiper without the redirect tube. I picked it out and it vents from the hole. Fortunately it will be on the passengers side.
I do not believe it is broken off. It is a plastic wiper motor and no air comes out the hole like it does on the u-shaped tube on the other wiper when it is operating.
Yeah! I noticed that the wiper still works when I leave it open but why doesn't the other wiper have one? Also, it seems like a entry point for moisture.
My new deuce came with wipers but the airlines were not connected past the metal tube routed from the dash. The wipers were very stiff and the red buttons were stuck with paint residue. I got the wipers working and started to run the airlines per the attached diagram from the TM.
The diagram...
Thanks Heavysteven, that is exactly how I feel. When I started this journey, I searched and listed the TM's recommended for deuce owners. I never saw anything past the 2330's. The 2520's gave me just what I needed. One thing I would like to know is there a number or plate on the tranny to...
I looked at TM9-2320-361-34 and it does not provide any detail parts diagram which goes so far as identifying the drain, fill and fording plugs. I assume the upper plug is the check and fill plug but am not sure.
So many things are covered in these manuals at the most basic level. I can't...
Understood. I forgot to mention that the temperature was 101 degrees on this trip. As for the oil, the mix you recommend is easy to find. However, it was my understanding from previous post that GL-1 is indeed nothing but mineral oil. That is what has confused me. I have read numerous post...
Tranny Parts Diagram
Okay, I am officially lost. I have searched all the TM's and the LO I downloaded and cannot find any parts diagrams and lists for the transmission that go beyond the breather cap maintenance. I would think 20 or 20P would have it but NOT!!!
Am I losing it or just...
Thanks for the inputs.
I started by checking the fluids. Easy on the transfer case with a 1/2" drive but he transmission had hex plugs. Fluids passed the knuckle test. I will drain the tranny and planned to add GL-1 which I picked up at Tractor Supply. The sell it as "Ford Tractor...
