This one is in the deuce section. I know what you meant though, I think you wanted to say in the members rides section.
I am not a long time veteran of this site, nor am I a mod on this site, but I can't see the harm of having a thread about deuce pics in the deuce section. However, if it is...
FMJ is right about the first leak, Smell the oil, you should be able to tell right away if it's gear lube from the tranny or motor oil from the real main. If it's tranny gear lube, you have it too full and it's coming out the input shaft screw back. The tranny should be about 1 to 2 knuckles...
I don't have any ideas for your activities, but I wholeheartedly agree with your last statement. It's those brave men and women who make it possible for us non military guys and gals to enjoy this great hobby. I hope everybody has a wonderful and safe Independence Day!!!!
my hubs were about 120 to 140 after about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of hard driving back from WI. I didn't think to check the diff's, tranny and transfer. As long as they all have good oil and the proper level, that's probably not bad though.
Wrench,
Even if it does refer to his age and profession, that only means that they are starting into the hobby younger out in Phoenix:twisted:
Welcome aboard, like already mentioned....read the TM's and use the search function. They are going to be your best friends once you get deuce...

Personally, I called some insurance companies...

Now that I have to wait on the sf-97 to come back, I'll start gathering the equipment and pull that tranny out and clean my clutch better than just using brake cleaner...
I agree with Recovery4x4. I have all of the TM's from the resources section saved, and a bunch of other technical information I've found posted saved on the computer so I can look at it any time I need to. Plus it's a lot easier to just print off the pages you want from the TM's rather than...
frodo,
your efforts are not waisted. You just helped lazy a** people like me out a lot. I just downloaded and saved your pdf rather than having to look up the other one.
Well, today I had to drive the deuce (The Stone Wagon) over to the BMV (Bureau of Motor Vehicles). Ohio is goofy about the name, I don't know why it's a bureau and not a department....anyway. My 30 day temporary tag expires today 7-1-09, Ohio requires an out of state inspection be performed...
I don't mean to thread jack here, but if any of you have read about my adventure getting my deuce home from WI and my clutch slipping, I know what gimpyrobb was going through.
I'm going to pull my tranny in a few weeks to clean everything up after that ordeal, and while I'm in there I figured I...
