Folks, you fail to see the OPPORTUNITIES that arise from reduced military spending!
PM the Deuces and, when the time comes, contract them back to the military!
Save the money and buy more Deuces afterwards.
Ok, yes, I am joking...but only partially. This very same situation is currently going...
Nice job with the painting. The sheet metal looks good and the paint is coming out well.
You can, of course, do whatever you want; it is your truck. I, too, believe that you have a rather rare truck that is made even rarer by its completeness and good condition. Whoever had it last did not even...
The Volkswagen TDI engines have a shutoff valve just before the intake manifold that is momentarily activated (closes and re-opens after a short period) when the ignition is switched off. It is an additional safeguard in addition to switiching off the fuel supply. It would also reliably shut...
Re: RE: Turbo question
In another life I worked on a tug boat and one of our Mirrlees-Blackstones did exactly that. I will never forget that beast starting to revv up, out of control. Yeah, they are machines, but that engine was screaming like a living being. The chief engineer ripped the air...

A semi loaded with three Canada Deuces was heading towards Ontario on autoroute 40.
They all had...
I showed the picture of the lineup to my better half. I explained that these trucks belonged to ONE guy. Paving the way, you know....She said: "single?"
Kudos to your cochones for fishing the chunks out and continuing with your day (and another 8k). I would have pulled the panic cord right there and then.
The shedding of unnecessary parts means that an engine rebuild is raising its head. In a way, at least you got enough additional mileage out...
Is it likely that a 1986 M35A2C with a VIN starting with 292272 has dual circuit brakes?
I thought I had read that the VIN starts with 1040 on the trucks with a dual master cylinder, and that only 1987 and 1988 trucks came with it.
