Ditto on the gloves. I find that wearing gloves on long trips with my Dodge PU or running the 813 or Deuce makes it much better. Firmer grip on the wheel on if it does decide to turn quickly it won't singe my hands.
There are at least three members that run across the cab from driver to pass. Two in front and one in back. One in front is angled and you can see that it angles from the cab towards the engine and above the bell housing. The straight one runs above the transmission.

I plan on taking photos of the truck inside and out so that everyone can see how the rectangular tube steel is connected to the frame and the tubes form the frame inside the cab. I can see something like this being built as a retrofit for existing owners who really wanted it.
