Looks cool. I did get to try my new Milwaukee corded reciprocating saw Sunday on the wood strips for Topher's truck. The thing is a monster. I like all the new Dewalt and Milwaukee tools I got.
You want to take a simple fix and instead swap out the engine? Hmmm, like replacing your breaker panel in your house to fix a burned out light bulb.
Fix the radiator, check the injectors in the MF (make sure they are all correct), run the valves to make sure they are correctly adjusted...
Funny, he didn't say it was good back then, he just pointed out what his Granddad said about the past. When the past is remembered like that it is usually because it was more dangerous and the old-timers know it.

Rrepik used house paint on his Deuce last weekend and I'd swear it looks like CARC after it has been on for a while it matches so well.
We have been using acetone and ATF 50/50 mix around my place since I learned about it. Like JW says, let it soak. Heck if you aren't going to work on it for a few days soak and let it set the whole time.
