Westech, I thought about that but was a little concerned about uneven battery draw. I guess the gauge doesn't draw enough to matter?
If I do go this route I'm thinking of using a relay that works off of the master switch. That way I won't forget and leave the pyro on and run down the front...
Been looking to put a pyro in my deuce. I saw this one on ebay AUTOMETER Z-SERIES ELECTRIC PYROMETER GAUGE KIT 2654 : eBay Motors (item 260327149788 end time Jan-28-10 14:29:04 PST) and it seemed like a good price so I bought it.
The problem is that I didn't pay good enough attention to the...
When people started talking about P-51s it reminded me of a story I heard.
We do alot of work at a place called Vought Aircraft in Nashville,TN. They make wings only now and they've changed names several times over the years but durring WWII they built P-51s.
Last year they were cleaning...
OK . I'd have to agree, I would also expect the truck to be fully serviced if it had a $4,500 price tag.
I'm not what you would call a "dealer". I will buy a truck to resell every now and then though. When I buy a truck from GL I take all the risk. That risk is worth something. The truck...
Was this post aimed at me? If it was, you have no idea what I sell my trucks for. I will tell you that I don't add $2,500 over the purchase price. I say again " I don't try and pass my trucks off as completely serviced". There is no "rattle can overhaul" with me.
I'll leave it at that...
You can pull them with a standard pickup-truck empty. Seeing as how you bought two you may want to haul them on a trailer big enough haul both of them so You don't have to make two trips though.
As I said above, I sell trucks that have not been "completely serviced" but I don't try and pass them off as such. I'll tell the buyers what has or hasn't been done to the truck. I'm sorry if some people think that is a "chicken sh*t" way to do business but I'm not trying to screw anybody. I'm...
There is a market for completely serviced trucks. IMO a truck that has been completely gone through is worth another $1,000.
I tend to sell trucks with minimum service because there is a market there too. If I get a truck from GL to sell I will make sure it runs and stops good and any major...
Sounds like you're going to have to pay the default fee if you want to play with GL again. If all you ever loose from dealing with GL is $180 you can consider yourself lucky .
I do charge my GL purchases with a CC just because of the convenience of it. I don't bid on anything I don't...
I've blown several compressor outlet hoses on different pieces of equipment and have never had a turbo failure because of it. What it will do is sound like a cannon going off under the hood when it blows and power will drop a bunch.
Are you plugging it into a GFCI protected circuit? I've got a GFCI outlet at my barn. I have had block heaters that would trip a GFCI outlet as soon as you plug it up.
You know, I've torn some down that had a sealing ring and some that didn't. The truck I currently have doesn't have the sealing ring and it doesn't leak.
A rule of thumb, as Kenny said, is to never bid more than a parts truck if you don't inspect before hand. The worst thing you can think of could be wrong with it.
If the truck has been moved with a forklift anything that hangs down below the frame could be damaged. I've seen bent driveshafts...
While I don't think they really compare to a deuce International makes a pretty mean 6X6. They also build some trucks for the military.
When you get into the bigger trucks KW and some others make some good all-wheel drive oilfield type trucks.
It's not as simple as changing the pistons. The piston oil coolers come out of the block and squirt oil onto the bottom of the piston to help keep it cool.
I've got an old Super 250 in the barn. It's basically a NHC 250 with a turbo added. I haven't looked at it to see if it has the piston...
I stopped watching it about 1/2 way through but did turn it back on to see the end. I've raised quite a bit of corn in my life and the corn didn't look ready to me. Combines are designed to harvest dried corn also. There's no way that corn head is going to pick green corn worth a crap. There was...
