GP needs to pay for putting that huge dent in the front. At least it's not a hydraulic part, they destroyed the hydraulics on my forklift loading it and then said "hydraulics not covered by ironclad guarantee".
My 1081 is doing the same thing. Brakes are dragging badly on mine. Have not figured out why yet, likely has to do with the check valve behind the bumper. Check your drums for heat after driving to see if this is the issue. Your transmission is showing proper numbers.
If it's a gas engine truck still, it will be too old to show up in the database that the "VIN info thread" uses. If it is multifuel, wait until the thread opens. Your truck was gas powered at one point as the serial number is pre-diesel I believe (1950's).
See if you can find 2" numbers...
May I ask why you wanted a M1031 if you did not want the maintenance box? Some M1028s have the 205 and have the bed you want.

A1 A2 harness will have fuel pump power at the tank and no distributor power lead. Also late harnesses will be set up with wires for push button start switch. All issues easily overcome to get the safety of new wiring.
