The M105 has air assisted hydraulic brakes. They do not lock up without air.
The M105 would be my choice behind either a Deuce or 5-ton.
For a pickup or SUV get an M101A2 or A3.
Did you pull the injectors out? If so, how? I heard they need a special tool. If you can fix a CAT engine you are doing pretty darn good for your first diesel repair.
Before you get carried away and start following advice on replacing stuff how about looking at the TMs and adjust the breaks AFTER inspecting them.
Gimpy and I had the same thing on a 915 recovery and the problem was mis-adjusted brakes and nothing else.

Except for the fact that one of them burned up on me I like the magnetic. Just walk out and slap the thing on the oil pan. Works fine and it does not leak.
I just had to start mine an hour ago with Ether. She started and there's nothing like the sound of rocks in a clothes dryer. I had to take out for a ride to make sure she didn't feel neglected.
