As far as the alt. goes, I've got a cousin that owns a starter and alternator shop. He tells me that he can make any Delco alt. 24 volts just by changing some parts inside for the same price as a 12 volt.

They used to offer a kit to convert a sprag t-case into a shiftable in/out front end. It was called the REB kit. I don't know what all was involed in the conversion or if that is what you're talking about though. From what I remember from the pics I've seen it added a shifter in the floorboard...

Yea, I know where GSA trucks come from. That's the problem. While the Military can be hard on stuff the local governments and such seem like they run them till they won't run anymore or are rusted out before they get rid of them on all the trucks around here.

This is a common misconception that people have. The "C" or "D" engine number has nothing to do with which turbo it has. A "C" engine can have a "D" turbo and vice-versa. Only way to tell which turbo you have is by what it looks like or how it sounds. I don't have any pics but a "C" turbo...

You said in your thread title that you had oil comming from your governor. Only way oil can get to the governor is if the compressor is pumping oil. I'd check the tanks for oil.
