Total destruction of all End-Use items (end of trucks???)

What does this have to do with the subject at hand? It borders on breaking the rules and it is this kind of stuff that gets people stired up. I'll leave it at that.

    "Droopy" Wipers How to Fix?

The stock wipers are air operated, not vaccuum.

    EUC Cleared but No Invoice

Never heard of that. I belive I'd go to the live chat or give them a call and find out what's going on.

    Converting Deuce body to Dump??

What's up with these links? They come up dead. I've aquired a Omaha Standard hoist to put on my deuce. I'm trying to figure out how to mount it and fit between the crossmembers of the truck frame. looks like it's going to be tight. I'm also wondering about a dual output PTO. Can a standard...

    Converting Deuce body to Dump??

If you're talking about the one mentioned at the front of the thread, I think Offroadfabworks has flew the coop. Last I heard several members here were looking for him.

    M35A2 Instument Panel L.E.D Lighting

Unless you actually handled the pointer I don't think you got hurt even if they are radium. Just to make sure go in a dark room and see if you glow .

    Built me a towbar

Oh, I agree. I'm still going with the plans to cut the ring out of steel. The current plan is to make the ring out of 3/4" and add a 3/8" ring slightly smaller than the 3/4" to add to the top and bottom to make a total of 1 1/2" thick (for strength) and give a more rounded edge. The price as...

    Built me a towbar

Still researching on the design. Talked to a guy today that I've known for a long time that owns a small forging factory. He told me he had a contract at one time to make the towbar forgings for the Military. He had to send the dies back when he lost the contract but thinks he still has the...

hhmv hydraulic winch on a deuce

I haven't installed my winch on my truck yet but I'm pretty sure the PTO only has a high, low, and reverse.

    Engine?

I have no idea which is better. Kind of a Ford/Chevy thing but I can't belive you could have three identical engines that came from three different companies. Different companies have different quality control standards and maufacturing processes and I bet the Government didn't check them out...

    Bobbed deuce weight and limit?

Does anybody know the weight rating of a deuce front axle? I think it's on the data plate but I'd have to look. I'd say you could take that figure and X2 for the total truck rating. Most people use front springs for bobs so it should hold as much as the front axle is rated for.

    Winch Shear Pins

All the farm equipment shear pins I've ever seen were steel. I would think you could be in trouble using a steel shear pin. The factory pins are 9/32" in dia. also. I think you may be ok using a 5/16 aluminum pin but not a steel one.

    Built me a towbar

Thanks to everyone with all the advice. :-D I was going with the plate to try and keep the cost down but after reading the post I may go with a factory made ring. I'm still waiting on my water-jet guy for pricing and after that I should be able to nail down a price.

    Built me a towbar

No offense taken . I welcome questions because if someone sees something wrong with it I want them to speak up. I may try and argue ( consturctively) with you a little but safety is the main concern. And no, I don't think it is as strong as the military bar either as far as the ring is...

    Built me a towbar

When I first pulled out on the road from a gravel parking lot durring the test tow the towed truck didn't staighten back out and the tires cut all one way jerking the back end of the towing truck around and then started dragging the front end. Other than a bad wreck I'd say this is about tops on...

    Built me a towbar

I agree about it not being as big but I think it's ok. It's cut out of 5/8" plate ( I thought about using 3/4" plate but was trying to keep the weight down). I sill may go with 3/4 on the production ones. I'm no engineer by no means but I've built lifting equipment to handle loads in excess of...

    Built me a towbar

I haven't got a firm price yet. I'm working on it. The legs are 2X2 1/4" wall square tubing. I had some pipe the same size as a mil. towbar but the tubing was easier to work with. I'm going to do some more testing and if anybody sees a problem with design or anything, by all means, speak up. I...

    Built me a towbar

After pricing military towbars and getting tired of having to borrow one every time I needed to tow I decided to build one. With work being slow I may offer them for sale if I can bulid them reasonably priced and there is interest. I'm a little worried about the liablitiy though. Tested it...

How much leakage on a Deuce

Kind of OT but a guy in the Army once told me " If a Blackhawk isn't leaking Hyd oil don't get in it, It's out".
