The engine must be completely stopped BEFORE you turn the battery switch off. If you turn off the batteries before it’s done spinning the alternator output has nowhere to go and can and will smoke the PCB or the alternator.
Wanted. Those never make it to the scrapper. Now I am parting out a 1083 and those springs would just be scrap. I wonder if they could be used to supplement what you have ?
Did you use lube on the orings? I did one and didn’t feel like walking down to the other shop to get some. Leaked like a sieve. Needless to say, I went and got the lube.
