Everyone,
Starting another thread to document to fix-up of another MEP 802A I just won from GovPlanet.
Got it for a good price, considering what they have been going for. The pictures were terrible, but I live close by & was picking up another MEP 802A a few week before that I knew was...
Spent some more time with it yesterday.
After looking it over with a bit more light, I found the elbow. Was happy about that. Noticed a few bolts missing on the part of the burner (not an HVAC guy, not sure the proper name) and decided to open it up because that meant someone was in there at...
Everyone,
Got myself a H-120 Army Space heater this morning from the auction yard. Got it for a real good price so figured I'd get it while I was there for other things.
Has less than 3 hours on it.
Tires were horrible, but I had some to swap on at the house. Will do something better...
I just got a H-120, it looks similar to the H-140. I seem to have the issue you are describing. I can't seem to find the TM for mine. Managed to find the parts TM only. Funny, looked up a H-140 picture & I think the remote control for one was inside of mine.
PMCS prevents failures in the field!
Was looking things over today and noticed that the fuel shut off bolt, nut, or whatever you want to call it, was only in by two threads and about to strip out!
This would have caused quite the issue if it messed up while I was out at my off grid place. Not...
I ended up getting a second trailer mounted MEP-802A but it had a seized motor, so it will be parted out.
I expected it to be no good, as it was already missing a lot of parts, but it was cheap enough. After taking it down, I found that it could have been saved, but I didn't want to spend the...
That's pretty good. I started searching for them. Have some bids in on one locally. If I get it, tires are always the first thing that I change out on auction stuff. I'm sure local tire shops will always beat an online price. Thanks!
I would not even bother pulling the injector at this point if you are getting white smoke coming out the intake. I would check valve seating , timing, and adjustment.
Of course, doesn't hurt to do it all.
It has been a while since I worked on one of these, but if I remember, the bypass is before anything gets into the pump... the extra that goes back to the tank just does a 90deg turn or something. So, it would lead me to belive there is not enough fuel getting there. Air trapped in the line...
Good work!
The port size is so close I don't think it will be an issue. Mine has cycles probably 2,000 times since I have installed it. With that being said, it certainly won't hurt to do this and bring it to where it was.
If it was a full 1/4 inch port size, I'd be worried about it being to...
Spend a little time with the trailer since I needed to work on the generator a bit.
Had one of the breaking caps that would leak grease bad. Replaced it and painted both the hubs.

Painted some spots where the paint came off and put the updated tire pressure where it...
Funny, it has been so trouble free I didn't realize I was way past due for an oil change! I'm at 618 hours now.
After using it this past weekend, I realized I needed to change the oil and spend a little time with it doing some minor things to it along with the trailer, but I will only talk...
This is incorrect. It is not 18mm 1.5. It is 5/8 18 but not regular thread or NPT. I think it is ORB thread type but am still trying to figure it out myself for sure. ORB makes sense though since it is all made from hydraulic fittings.
