I'm at 402 hours & really have not had issues. :)
A small crack at the muffler flange has popped up but that is an easy fix.
Still a real slight oil leak that I can't quite pinpoint. I changed the oil last month & it wasn't really down at all so for a 26 year old generator, I'm not going to...
Haven't posted in a while.
Been driving it a bunch. Changed engine oil & filter, fuel filters, & flushed coolant system. Put the newer Cat ELC in.
Noticed a little wetness under the transmission. Planning to change the oil & filters in that next. Can't quite tell why it's wet but it's...
Good write up. Found it when reading about fluid changes as I plan to do all mine here soon my my new-to-me LMTV.
I'm going to stick with the 15w-40. I have a LOT of it because I use it in just about everything I have with an engine.
I'm also in south Texas so cold temperatures aren't a big...

With the air bags in the deflated position, no longer having problems with the fan clutch.
Replaced the coolant overflow bottle. The one I got was slightly different... probably a design change. But, it works.
Took care of some other small things.
Here are the links to the relays I got.

So, today I decided to look at the cab air ride springs. It seemed like the cab was clanking when I was hitting bumps. But, I was getting no air leak noise.
Lifted the cab by hand since the hydro pack spits to much fluid. Messed with the valve at the bottom right of the control box & watched...
The Tiger Tool is probably better but in reality, I need to use it to remove & install one time... then I have it if need be. Figured if for some reason I ever needed to be flat towed, I can pull the shafts off.
Think I am going to go ahead & order the one on the Amazon link since it has both...
I'm in the process of finding a place to check the shafts for me.
Looking to remove them myself & I've always gotten beyond frustrated with u-joints. Imagine I'd be even more frustrated with these large ones.
I saw there are tools for doing it. Found this set...
All registered & legal now. Took it out for an hour on the Farm to Market roads & on the highway some. Went through town. I'm really happy it's 100% in my name now.
Thanks for the responses!
Yes, the lights were already on. I know the other stuff doesn't work without the service lights on as to not cause an issue when light discipline is needed.
Will dig in more later. Inspection went fine. :)
Go figure, jumped in the start it up the morning to check & see if my air leak repair held... not getting any parking lights! It's still dark so I'm going to go look at the relays & tap them. Really hope it's something dumb as I want to get it registered today!
Also, the headlights are garbage...
Okay, I ghosted for a few days... but got some things done!
Ended up having to wait until Monday to get insurance setup. Went through USAA Agency to setup my policy with Progressive. Hopefully it saved me money because it took almost 3 hours on the phone bouncing between people to get it setup...
Hopefully they'll last many years. Also makes it so they will be secure in the battery box as I plan to do some off road with it. It was a plus that I can have them in hand & installed today as well.
On hold with Progressive to get it insured as I type this. Hopefully will get that done &...
Well, after all of my babbleing, I just ordered the 4 6TL's from NAPA. There's a commercial NAPA not far away & they have them on the shelf. I'll be getting them today. :)
The Optima batteries I like a lot because in my experience flooded batteries don't last long as all here.
I found the rebuild kit in another thread;
https://www.mrosupply.com/tools/hydraulic-tools/1972684_spx-300140_spx-power-team/
Will order that & just go through the entire thing. Maybe get...
Great information everyone. I know mine is leaking but haven't dug in to deep yet. Thinking it's the common issue of air getting in & pushing fluid out the vent.
