Who can guess the winning BID?

It has its pros and cons but looking at all the little stuff and a few big things, I wouldn't bid over 10K. Considering the other costs involved after you win the bid and then all the other stuff (depending on how you want to drive it), probably adds another 10K. I couldn't see being into it...

Where to find the dash vent slider knob

do an ebay search for HMMWV HEATER and you'll find both at different prices. The one I links was the cheapest and I'd bet you could use the knob.

    Rear winch suggestions

Pictures would be very helpful when asking questions like these however I think I found a picture you posted previously and it looks like an Air Lift Bumper and Rhino tire carrier. So this begs the question if you have the hitch extension as well and if you are using the civilian hitch adapter...

    Rear winch suggestions

It was, I saw it. I'm surprised. The website still has it .... until they read this I guess. When I bought mine from them it was $105 and I sent an offer and got it for $90. Nobody wanted them at the time I guess. Sad part is you can buy it new for $181 here ...

    Rear winch suggestions

I don't think it is a requirement because it doesn't attach to the bumper itself. From a manual or military aspect it might but I think it would only need a simple bracket made to bolt to. #6 is the bumper mounting bracket the winch attaches to, real easy to make something..

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

The truck ran great all year. No leaks, no issues and starts right up. We have some snow coming (not much) and that signals to me it's time to put the truck in the garage for the winter. Not that it can't take the winter but so I can keep working on it and moving the project forward. My...

    Heater hoses

https://store.adv4x4.com/12340029.html Having replaced mine I will tell you it is no easy task. And if you are going to do it "original", you'll need 16 of these https://real4wd.com/product/grommet-nonmetallic-heater-duct-1-4-x-5-8/ but I'd recommend buying at least 20 because you'll probably...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

I rewired my light switch today. Part of the job was moving a copper contact that I am no longer using to a place where I needed a new contact. Part of the dimmer switch (post L on the diagram) is no longer used so I removed it. I had to fill the hole so the rotating contact does get stuck...

    M998 flasher problem

Give me a few minutes and I'll find where I bought mine. They are cheap enough that I would just replace them with the exact part but yes, you could use any method you want.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

It seems when it comes to HMMWV's you can never have enough projects. I bought some more inoperable turret joysticks to see if I can get one working. It starts with disassembly and inspection. There are 2 basic parts, a sensor and a magnet. The common cause of issues seems to be water in the...

    change of the gear ratio

I think it will come down to money however in your original post you said to assume you have a 6.5TD and 4L80. How fast are you trying to travel on the highway? I have 6.5 NA with a 4L80 with 2.73 differential. I can do 65 mph on the highway and wouldn't want to go any faster. In my opinion...

    M998 flasher problem

Don't overlook the ground strap that ties the 2 mounting/ground lugs together. I've seen one rusted right in half causing a similar problem.

    M998 flasher problem

That cover as rusted as it is surely has let water in the wiring. Obviously you should replace the cover and probably the one on the other side as well. They cost about $20 each.
