Just curious as to what makes these crack. I would like to believe that the cause was discovered and corrected long ago. We had a similar issue with M1A1 road wheel hub sight glasses. Put virtually every tank on the deadline report!
My fan blade has a crack in it. My gut tells me either the design was bad, the material was flawed, manufacturing process was flawed, or something struck it. I don’t see any witness marks elsewhere to suggest it was struck or impacted. Anyone have good intel on cracking fan blades?
I don’t have a TM or a schematic - but I vaguely remember that the turn signal switch has something to do with headlights. I’m either thinking of a much older vehicle or I’m hallucinating….
Correct, the ductwork and diverter are under the dash. I have installed the entire unit under the dash as well as in between Jeep seats and Deuce & 5 ton bucket seats. We would pull out the bench seat and put buckets in from a GOER or heavy hauler.
Look on your frame. At the left front outer frame rail near the bumper gussets. Do you have a tag like this? Also, check along to top of the frame rail on the front right (passenger side) near theupper shock mount - possibly at the downward slope going to the rear - there maybe a serial #...
Like I said, that’s very odd. There must be a bad batch out there. The biggest issue I remember having was keeping the wire clamp in the groove. The 5 tons were better to work with.
It’s been a long while since I worked on a gasser and roughly 40 years since I worked on a Deuce. The LDA465 M35’s had a water heater mounted under the dash. I’ve even mounted a 2nd one under the passengers seat and ducted it into the cab.
The TM for your model should have maintenance (R&R)...
