It takes "forever" to prime using the dash pump... I fill the filter before I put it on, and it still takes a bit of effort. If you have a handy source of compressed air, pressurize the tank (gently) by removing the vent line and using its fitting (just push the tip of your blowgun onto it)...

Of course, if you wanted to keep it as a M416, you could talk to me about the spare tub that I have in the backyard... :) I also have a M762 (USMC varient) in the yard that is kinda/sorta looking for a home... Your project is comming right along, heck of a lot of work invested there.

Charles at M Series Rebuild in Norwood, NC, had a huge pile of M101 rack hardware last time I was at his shop... The metal bits that he has are all steel, the wood and/or fiberglass has all been removed since he was salvaging trashed racks. He had the corner pieces, hinges, pins, stakes, etc...

Numbers that I use for renewing the NP200 are: Yoke seals - National 410308 x 4 (Double lip, double case heavy duty) Redi-Sleeve 99212 x 4 Shift shaft seals – National 6835S x 2, Redi-Sleeve 99076 x 2 Enjoy.

Good news! I've gotten into the habbit of sleaving and resealing the shafts on the t-cases of any M37 varient that comes into my yard as standard operating procedure... Amazing how much difference it makes, especially if you have a repowered truck and run down the highway often.

I still kick myself for not purchasing a Navy IH Loadstar with a Holmes 750 on it a couple years ago... I paid slightly more recently for a M816 that will be a bit more useful for me ultimately, but it's not nearly as unique (nor as smooth a ride going down the road). Give it a good home if...

I missed this thread the first time around, but will toss in one extra thought: The pintle on the 2.5 and five ton trucks rotate (3/4 ton like the M37's do as well for that matter...). The lunette ring on the 1/4 ton trailers rotate... I did once tow a M416 behind a XM813 for fifteen miles...

Ferro and I are convoying out... We have "kinda/sorta" commitments from one person in western NC and one person in TN who want to ride out with us. Depending on how we route it, it might be good to run the route we did last year with you, or it may look better for us to take the "southern"...

I run the Chevy dual circuit MC in all my M37 varients... (The link Tanner posted has all the parts and instalation info you need). Back when I was running with the stock MC in one of the trucks, I once had a wheel cylinder fail while pulling up to the pump at a truck stop...coasted to a stop in...

Keep in mind also that there is more than one speedo adapter (between the transfer case and the speedometer head) in use. Needed do to the use of different diameter tires by the military in OEM applications with the rest of the driveline and guage parts being the same in order to get correct...
