The good folks at Roscommon also have a PDF with filter info for 2.5 and five ton trucks including a comparison of the military and civilian versions... http://www.roscommonequipmentcenter.com/news_notes/nn16.pdf In addition to the numbers provided above: Oil: Wix 51954 or NAPA 1954...

    Headlights

I've done this conversion using the Hella E-code European lights to everything that I drive, from the '51M37 to the '90 944S2... Part numbers and such are on my website at: Headlights I've been ordering from Susquehanna Motorsports for a while now as they have better prices then my local parts...

    Drum / filter bag setup?

I use a commercial light duty filter bag setup at 5 microns and pump the oil through it. Cut it 50/50 in the summer, about 25/75 in the winter for use in my NHC250 powered trucks. Unit I use is: 100XB Filter Housing w/Stand at F2F Filtration Units (didn't purchase from these folks, but they...

    Tow Bar Pins - Updated

I use the heavy duty hitch pins from Agri-Supply in mine... Little bit longer than stock and have a d-loop on one end (handle) that makes it a tad easier to align/move the towbar around. They have them in all the diameters needed. :)

Hard top to cab bolt holes

I've had a few cabs that did not have the holes drilled, but they did have a dimple where the hole was supposed to go. Made it real easy to drill out the hole since it was obvious where it needed to be and the bit didn't wander... :)

    Wilson, NC Fly In - 2009 Oct.10th

This was a really fun show last year. Lots of great old warbirds in addition to the newer ones (experimental class craft). Also, a good representation by the local Corvette club, NCANG, ect. I can't make it this year (have to work this weekend), otherwise, I'd be there in a heartbeat...

    HEMTT Wheels

Just because it airs up and sits on the rim when you have it in the shop doesn't mean that it is what you really want to be running down the road on, IMHO... Even if you don't have a tube getting stretched, my vote is with Gohot229 on this one. By going wider than the design rim, you will...

Seals on outside of M37 front hub

Oops!! I really should drink my morning coffee before I make this kind of post... You're right, this is the seal on the REAR hubs. The front has the oil seal in the axle tube on the inside of the nuckle...

Seals on outside of M37 front hub

Yes, that seal needs to be there... :) The newer ones are neoprene (sp?). Which TM are you looking at? It's been a while since I looked at my collection, but I'm pretty sure that you can find it in the parts manual and/or the power train, body, and frame.

    Hard top part (back panel)

Does anyone remember who it was that had nice (NOS perhaps?) rear panels for the hard tops? They did not have the tops, just the rear panel with the sliding window. I have a pair or hard tops that have rust issues in the flanges where the rear panel bolts to the cab (tub) and to the top...

    2009 GA Rally-trader on line

I can't make the rally (got to work every weekend this month...), but I am sending down some of the 1/2" tie down chains that I have that have been in the classifieds. Brand new, 9' long, grab hook on one end, 25,000lb WLL. Neil will have them (Brandon picked them up from me yesterday...

    M109 trailer Conversion thread

I'll second that!! Especially since he came to my place right after he finished unloading your project, drove to the coast (another three hour drive each way) so that we could drop off a genset and look at a M816 that I am purchasing (oh, and he moved a halftrack while he as at it as well)...

    M211 / M135 part needed

Karl, If Brandon does have a good one, I can haul it up for you... If he can't bring it down to my place before I head up to VA, I've got a coworker who will be driving by his place next week who could snag it and haul it back to me, for delivery up the following week...

9.00 X 20 NDCC tires in VA or MD

I will be at Berg tire early next week picking up a bunch of rubber. Alan mentioned to me a couple days ago that he has a large selection of 900x20 tires (new) that he is selling in lots of ten (can't remember the price as I actually am way more interested in radials for my five tons these...

5 Ton Cummins and Deuce Multi Photos

Since the rest of the guys have covered the question about turning up the pump on the NHC250... The pump stand is the calibrated device that a competent shop attaches the injection pump to when making adjustments. The stand allows them to monitor flow/pressure using a test fluid (oil) at a...

    Helitool conversion calipers

I just go to my local (insert store name here) low cost auto parts store and tell them that I have a '78 Chevy Silverado 3/4 ton 4x4 w/350 auto... Walk out with loaded calipers and away I go. Works just great with Ray's setup. I've done about ten trucks using the setup (mine have four...

    Transfer Case Seal Replacement

Last one of these that I did, I used a six point socket out of my 3/4" set (from Agri-Supply) and spun it with my 1/2" air wrench... Really easy to take off and resnug back on. Been using the newer seals and redi-sleaving all the NP200's when I get a truck into the yard on general principle...
