So I missed out on a cucv. He sold them all before I got back with the money. Guess I'll have to piece the axle swap together. Did see these jewels. Time and money. Oh, and some big tools and jacks hehehe.
Had a minute to bend up the heater bracket after work. Hopefully get to do a little installation this weekend. And a little off topic but my plates came in for my carrier today. Now to loose the tummy so it will not bounce a round through my nose.
Vintage air heater came yesterday but didn't get to paw on it until tonight. This thing is super sweet and compact. Can't wait to get it installed and see how she does. Have plenty of room on passenger side if I need to add another with no defrost ducts.
Yes I have to cardboard my FJ40 too. I hope we never have anything like that again plus not sure if the all knowing ones learned anything about how dependable a windmill is in an ice storm or how efficient a solar panel is when its cloudy . 🤔. MREs and propane are my new best friends hehehe.
Ordered one of these for up front. I have a VA ac and heat in my FJ40 does a great job but I put a lot of insulation and sound deadening in. Think ac in an M725 would be a futile attempt to say the least. I guess I could add another heater if it needs more heat blowing but probably won't have...
Plate light came in so mounted it and plate. Have to redo the spacer later but it will all have to come apart anyway to finish it off and paint everything.
What are the possibilities of those of us with MV conversions sharing their trips and upcoming plans. Might be opportunities to meet in person, find a new trail to explore or many other possibilities. For me, it seems as though even a night in the sticks can turn into a good story to share...
These are on my M725. I think I saw somewhere they were still available but can't remember. Memphis equipment might be able to help. I'm doing an axle swap in the near future and will be selling both axles, 5 wheels, 37" tires extra flaps and tubes if interested. Thats a lot of extra stuff...
Swing lock installed. Think ill see if I can get backup lights done while I ponder on gas can hold downs. I like the ones on my other holders but they don't cover the lids. Like it wouldn't be easier to poke a hole in the bottom and drain the gas if they wanted it that bad.
Thats cool stuff right there. Yes, I call it identifying weak spots! And I love hangie stuff too
yes for sure. That's cool stuff. I love old school, not much into the new computer technology. Granted they can get crazy performance with it but just cant beat the simplicity of air, fuel and...
Thank you. Yes, I don't like trail repairs so I try to put a little extra thought and material in my stuff, beat the crap out of it and see what needs a little more hehe. I tend to be a little hard on my equipment at times. Or so people say anyways 🙄.
Made some time to do a little fabrication on the old girl today. Have to order plate light, fabricate the can hold downs and install the stay open pin and do a lot of cleaning up on welds but pretty much a good day.
Spirit of the wild I guess. Its a shame that we are probably the last that will know and appreciate the past, the beauty of what is natural and peaceful. Too many distractions for the minds of the young to sit, see and take in what is real and true.
Well said sir. Thats is a friends place and has been in the family since the 1800's. My Great Great Grandmother settled in Palo Pinto County on the Brazos in 1847 and story goes that she and Mr. Goodnight were friends. I find lots of peace by these old rivers and reflecting on the past.
Ac cooled the box off nicely. Looks like I can get about 3 nights on a bottle of propane. Thinking the Big Buddy heater will suffice for winter camping just need to investigate the cab heater/defrost and see what condition it is in. I disconnected everything and it looks like something the PO...
