Most all MV that use brake fluid used DOT 5 which is normally purple in color, the seals will be fine with DOT 5 as DOT 3 is actually a more abusive fluid than the silicone DOT 5. Just make sure you don't mix the two fluids.

That's nice if you have access to lots of potable water but a better solution in lots of situations is Grime Boss hand wipes you can get them at Home Depot and they are great at removing almost anything including the smell of gear oil and diesel!

This also happened during Katrina 10 years ago and I know a lot of trucks got sold shortly afterward. Lot of people bought vehicles down here for cheap and hauled them far off and sold them without disclosure of the saltwater soaking.
I have checked the transmission fluid in thousands of these 939 series trucks and have only seen one or two that had red color ATF in them and can tell you that not anyone I have heard of has said they found one from the factory that had ATF in it. They were ordered with 10wt and I will bet that...
Hey bud my guy said no thanks, and I have an idea about the winch and battery covers, what about covering the top and bottom of the winch area with tread plate to protect the winch from the elements and it would give you some storage also.
