Here's what I would do if you suspect a bolt. You don't have to remove entire transmission build a carriage under tranny with pipe rollers or wheels and separate the transmission just far enough to let bolt fall out. Hopefully you got some concrete to work off of if not a 3/4 sheet of plywood...

Yes its a brass float and it gets pinholes then fills with fuel. You can get a plastic one that is a perfect match from summit racing.

Or a load where the manufacturer screwed up and has to get oversized something to you overnight. Which can't be ups or FedEx
