Well, once you get into town it sure "ain't the country no more". Fortunately theres's a nice, wide, two lane industrial road to my mother's subdivision.
Short trip in the ol' deuce up to Cache Valley, UT for a family get together this last weekend. Was actually my first trip to my Mother's place in the deuce.
My little dog doesn't care for her "Mutt Muffs" but she did keep them on and sleep like she always does on road trips. I got them for...
Until I actually bother getting my VIC-1 mounted/installed and my MP3/phone adapted to play through it, I've opted for these Howard Leight hearing protection. For me, I like that they're powered by my device, it makes them lighter on my head. I find them farily comfortable - not too tight on...
After I've made other various small modifications to the truck - particularly an Ibis Tek HMMWV light bar, a truck mounted Battery Tender, and an over head console for a CB - it occurred to me that I never did fuse protect the power line for my fans. The "what if" bothered me (What if the fans...
I moved the trailer next to the house the other day during a respite between the rainstorms. I thought I'd share how little water now pools on top. The dirt marks allow you to see the old large pooling locations between the bows.
So a while ago I read about different methods folks used to help prevent water pooling on their cargo cover in between the bows on their trailer, and one fellow posted a picture of what the military suggested (which I can't seem to find...). But anyway, it was to place a piece of wood on top...
I think this trailer is about exactly what I'd want in a trailer, but doubt I'll be able to afford one unless I sell my deuce (and let alone get one in the US!)

No, but it did seem every 3rd house had chopped wood for sale in self-serve bins on the front (especially in the town called "Woodland"!).
We have a harvesting permit from the forest service in that area. We're going to scout out other spots where you don't have to hike the logs up/down the...
And finally, a warning sign I told "I got this, no worries."
Such great temperatures too right after some rains. Couldn't have asked for a better day for wood hunting (except more wood closer to the road that the trucks weren't allowed to leave).
Greatest way to watch the sun set:
Drove a little over 70 miles (hey, that's a record so far for me and my deuce) into the mountains S.E. of Kamas, UT (Mill Hollow) to go wood "hunting" with my brother. Turned out to be poor wood gathering spot (and a lot of work to turn the deuce and trailer around), but I thoroughly enjoyed the...
Just reporting back - we didn't stack above the sides of the trailer (70+ mile trip home) and after getting the wood in there, I had *NO* worries about the rack strength (made me wonder why I did in the first place).
Unfortunately we had a real hard time turning around with the trailer. May not...
Thanks folks for the comments and great pics!
Thank you, but I had only meant the load on the side racks on the trailer. No doubt that the trailer itself will handle it.
I'm thinking of using my M105A2 to haul a cord of firewood. However, I do have some concern with the strength of the sides on the trailer. Mine are fiberglass and are in excellent condition.
A perfectly stacked cord of wood is 128 cubic feet - even poorly stacked the trailer will not be full...
I'll definitely be interested in how that plastic battery box fits with the different latch system - I've always wondered...
bonedoc, what kind of tires did you choose (or where already there) on your truck? Any rubbing issues on the front when making "sharp" turns? Do you carry a spare in...
