Great looking truck. Love the rubber on your truck, too! Did the truck come out with those tires? I've never seen an A3 with those tires before, but they look awesome!
Can you take some pics of those straps that wrap around the first and fifth bows? I have a brand new cover on my M925A2 and my GMA cover does not have those straps. I am wondering if you are thinking about the straps that hang down to allow you to roll up the front and rear integral end...
Are you talking about how to secure the top to the bows if the sides are rolled up? There are straps that either hang down from the elbow (bow corners) on the canvas tops, or, on vinyl tops, there are integral straps that hang down that latch back to loops on the outside of the cover. If this...
I completely hear you. I am relieved that we can at least get historic tags, which was in doubt with the previous bill. I still am PISSED that they were able to move this along in a special session...but they did the same with other, uhhh, agenda items to keep this from getting political.
This is not exactly true. They did pull an end around on us, but they did not proceed with the full spirit of the originally proposed bill that would have ended historic tags for any vehicles over 10,001 GVW. The big change is that you can no longer tag a deuce or 5 ton that is under 25 years...
I just gave two nice ones away for scrap value. One thing that hindered the value was the lack of a title. They were acquired from GL when they were not giving titles some years back...just SF97s with their notarized bill of sale...and that did not cut it in MD. I got my money out of them and...
Whatever you find, please post back to the list because I want at least one of those two trucks, too. Thanks for helping. That way, your efforts can help the rest of us who can't inspect.
The tractors do not ride as smoothly as the cargos, and they don't ride as smoothly as the LWB trucks. A friend has an M818 on which he installed a deuce bed and it looks great. He and I were just talking about this thread and his words were, "No way I'd seek out a tractor to convert into a...
I suggest you go for an M923 with 1100s. They are cheaper and you'll thank me later on the power. If you have to have the single tires, go for an A1...again cheaper.
Keeping the low mileage one may not be the answer. I'd drive both and consider other factors, as well. Have the transmissions serviced (or do it yourself)...see if there is any major metal in the transmission fluid. Pull a wheel or two to check the brakes and bearings. Check the transfer...
I would not expect to run an M939 series truck at 65 MPH for any distance. They will do it, but they are not made to run that day in and day out. If you need that kind of speed, while towing equipment, I agree with WELDER SAM, think civvie. My $.02...
