i used a sanden comp, very common, and cheap new. you can just use a 3 ohm 50 watt resistor for the clutch power.
even with an un sealed cab, mine is comfortable. so i imagine sealed it will just be better. i do have patterns for the insulation, but not many were interested. they make fitting...
it takes a certain amount of fuel to do a certain amount of work. i doubt you will ever find any difference in mpg because of tires. regardless of tire size or gearing, it will take a predictable amount of fuel to go a preset speed. even with .69 5th gear, i still only get 12 mpg, loaded or not...
most of what you list it already has. sleeves it has. forged crank not needed. the ip already is easy to work on and parts are not that much compared to many. the ldt has oil jets for the pistons & the lds has piston channels. 200 hp is easily obtainable, just get gauges and turn up the pump...
if you can get 20 psi boost, you will soon have holes in your pistons or head gaskets missing. also a deuce never has any manifold vacuum. you should question the quality and accuracy of any inexpensive gauge setup. for my money, VDO is the best as it uses a dc to dc converter to drive the...
one company is making 5 sets, but has been doing this since the end of last november! i am placing a order with an entirely new company next week. they said max time 12 weeks, maybe less since i have the tooling.

i used the insulation mat material made for use under mil air mattresses. comes in black or green. with my templates you can get a very good fit. (i originally had an old artic kit fot the m-35, but i refined it a bunch)

a fuel leak that i have not seen mentioned is the booster pump shaft seal. these trucks are getting old and the seals are getting hard. mine was leaking so badly it was a trickle. just pull the pump out and run the in tank pump to confirm it is leaking. seals are about $6.

i have been using 40wt motor oil for years. first reason was that i ran the truck at 70 mph and the oil in the transfer would foam at that speed. second is much easier shifting. the custom 3053 trans i use now has 2 sets of needle brngs, one for 2nd gear so it won't seize and one for 5th, so the...
no need to keep the push rods in any order, you will be adjusting all the valves anyway. clean the block deck surface with a small scraper that is very sharp. you can use it as a scraper for the large chunks and drag it like a razor to really clean the rest. to check the valves fill the ports...
it has already been done, sort of......... if my gear manufacturer would get a move on! promised date is end of april 2010, but there have been so many setbacks in the last 2 1/2 years i am not holding my breath.
the good part is it won't over rev so don't worry about it whan it happens. just a suggestion, reset the high idle on your trucks to 2550, which is more than generous, and then you can just hold it on the floor to act as a 'cruise control'.

if you mean 'farm tractor' that would have all cog gears, this would certainly be a reasonable way to get a few more years service. things on the 3053 are already about as far engaged as they will go.
