I was under the impression the truck would not start. So it starts but will not continue to run ?
I do know if that "over-flow" valve is stuck "open" then it will "not" allow enough fuel to stay in the Hydraulic Head to be compressed by the piston (rod) . Especially when the boost pump is...
Just for grins and giggles, does anyone have the NSN numbers for these bushings ? I'll try and get ahold of the Gillig suppliers and see what they say about their parts fitting.
I don't have the TM's for these trucks or I would look them up myself.
I suppose I should post what mine has been doing. Since my last test here, I've been running my unit in deep freeze mode ever since. It has worked great. No problems at all. Keeps the temp at -23C . I just wish I had bought the other one at that price then !
This unit is going into my S250...
I'm sorry I didn't read this post earlier. I would have cut off the frame behind the cab and using some original frame from another deuce "spliced in this new section. You can weld this frame as it is "not" hardened. Then I would get some "C" channel made up to fit "inside" the original channel...
After driving my new Chevy with it's little camera's all over, I've got really used to just looking at the dash to see what is going on around me. Like you said, with the price of a complete camera system coming down I'm really tempted to install one on my Deuce. At my age it is getting real...
You have the same master cylinder as my 1988 deuce has. The seals are all readily available from any "O" ring supplier that sells "Viton" and "silicone" seals. "Peashooter" (Aaron) has a great write-up on this on his "brake" information post.
The only seals "not" readily available are the two...
That pretty much matches up with what I've been reading. Though the reports I've read say 2000 PPM is the max for ZDDP for a well broken in engine. Now if your breaking in a "rebuilt" engine they say to use up to 5000 PPM for the first 2000 miles. Cam and tappet wear is the biggest issue.
I would stay with just the two bottles even for the conventional oil. Both have about the same amount of ZDDP in their oil so two 4oz bottles is fine. Since I wrote that I have found you can over do it on the ZDDP additive. So stick to the two bottles.
Wasn't that steering column bracket made by "Peashooter" (Aaron) ? I'm pretty sure it was. I remember buying it from him I'm sure. That was a few years ago now, but I'm still pretty sure it was "Peashooter" .
I bought some "Hewitt" gauges for mine. At least I think they are Hewitt !
Man my brain...
It can be fun to just let go and destroy an engine you know is toast ! I still remember doing that to a Dodge 318cid . It never blew up, just sadly slowed down and then froze together. Never to turn over again.
OK. Sorry if I read anything into this post that you didn't mean. I'm so used to people going after me for something I said I guess I go into attack mode automatically anymore.
I do love my new Milwaukee 3/4" impact, and plan on carrying it with me on my trip. It just is not as powerful as some...
So now your going back years to try and discredit me Floridianson ? Well if you really read what I said, You need to look at post #8 . He was clearly referring to the Milwaukee #2763-22 1/2" impact wrench. So from then on I was referring to that 1/2" impact wrench. Then in post #18 "swbradley1"...
I know you are getting fuel to the injection pump, but have you "measured" the actual fuel output ? Basically are you flowing enough fuel ? Have you taken off the fuel line from the fuel filter to the injection pump and seen how much fuel comes out ? At this point I'm just throwing out ideas and...
I can honestly say I have never heard of any one swapping out an engine because they were bored !
At least it was a good training experience I hope ! :D
I second the motion for the part numbers and where you bought them from ! Looks so much brighter ! That's what I need here in the gloomy winters months. Much better to be seen then crashed into !
