Deuce hauls an MK 18 Trailer

Got easier, at least it started that way. I left work at lunch to go and get the tires for Hoefler. I left out in the Deuce to Mr. Kellam's yard to pick up the tires. Wrestled them off of his forklift onto the truck and had just about got the canvas buttoned back up. Got a call from the...

Deuce hauls an MK 18 Trailer

Now it's about to get interesting. Tomorrow I'm going to attempt to back this thing on a flatbed with ramps. I would rather it be a landoll with a dovetail ramp or an RGN but there should be some interesting pics tomorrow night. I believe the entire truck and trailer combo should fit on a...

Deuce hauls an MK 18 Trailer

Sir, I didn't score it. I pulled it for a fee but it really is nice and newly rebuilt. If the owner want's to post what it sold for, he'll speak up and if he doesn't want to, that's fine as well. I will say that when it comes to bidding, things have gone way up with new interest in the hobby...

Deuce hauls an MK 18 Trailer

quickfarms, they are normally powered by the hydraulic pump on the MK 48. I have no idea how much volume it produces but I know this much about it. When you want to use the hydraulics on the trailer, you pull a knob out on the passenger side of the MK 48 commonly known as the 8 ball. When you...

Deuce hauls an MK 18 Trailer

Sir, the towbars are found on some MK-14 trailers and are used for doing a tandem tow. That's a MK48 connected to an MK 14 with an additional MK 14 for a combo of 3 units. The towbars are a little on the rare side and they weigh about 500 pounds so I wouldn't attempt to install without a...

Deuce hauls an MK 18 Trailer

Had a nice trip today. I forgot to bring my camera so there's not much in the name of "in progress" photos. I talked Atomic into helping me pull a trailer for Hoefler. I didn't explain exactly what was going to be involved because what's the fun in that. We first went to Mr. Herbert Kellam's...

    M35 vs M813???

The 809 series 5 tons with the exception of the M816 and M820 and I'm not sure what the bridge carrier weighs (M814) are under the 26,000 pound cutoff and have hydraulic brakes so they should be legal without a CDL in your state as the M35's are. A CDL is cheap insurance for someone like myself...

    Random Long Cranking to Start

I don't think it's a leaky connection from my experience. Read all of what I'm about to post. I messed up a line that feeds the intake flame heater when I installed my C Turbo. It would still crank right up every time but would shut off about 15 seconds afterward. It would then take 30...

    Thanx to Sandcobra..

Good to see everything made the ride safely. I only wish I would have brought a camera so I could show what a Deuce with rear a cargo cover looks like backing an MK-14 Trailer onto the lowboy. First time with that and mirrors and ground guide only, I got it on the 3rd attempt!!! Nice seeing...

    Rod Bolts

Mine's a "New" in the 90's motor. I've run her hard, extended cruising on the governor, quite a few heavy loads. I believe there is logic on the 12 point rod bolts as mine has not slung apart. She does have an oil leak from the head gasket that I will fix but it's so slight, I never have to...

    glow plugs recomendation

The AC60's do require a slightly wider terminal. I've seen pictures on here of people grinding the terminals on the AC60 down to fit the factory connector and I've seen pictures of people replacing the terminals like I did.

    glow plugs recomendation

I've read that the AC60G's need a longer glow cycle. This may be of concern to the OP as he is in Wisconsin. Here in GA, the AC60G's work fine on our coldest days (roughly 19 degrees positive) without any changes to the existing controller system. I did the resistor bypass and strongly...

    M35a2 Timing

JohnJuan, this is a useful thread that died about 2 years ago. I appreciate your enthusiasm but putting a . on a long dead thread is frowned upon on most forums I've ever visited. It will bring the thread back to the top and someone else might gain an understanding on the timing marks between...

M923A1 fuel pump to far advanced.

I've driven many NHC 250 powered trucks. I just thought that was a common "Diesel Rattle" when I stepped on the throttle. I'm not sure how your's sounds but I thought it sounded rather mean and I hope my next truck has it!!!

M35A2 or M35A3? Pro's and Cons of each

You make some valid points in you're argument. I commend you on that. My A2 is lacking the air assist steering but I don't miss the power steering that much, it actually steer's pretty easy. I do enjoy being able to drive 62 MPH if I desire to, I enjoy being able to burn most any filtered...

    85 AM General m35a2 modifications

I've checked back in sooner. You do realize these things are on the governor at 55 mph on the stock 9-20's. I'm on 11R20's and I'm limited to 63 mph. No worries there but I actually only run about 45 mph or so. There is a reason. The multifuel motor in these trucks was based on an old farm...

    Fuel Gauge

Never trust the fuel gauge on a MV. There are two wires going to the fuel gauge, 1 has 24 volts, one grounds to the sending unit. It varies it's resistance based on the amount of fuel present and what the float level is at. Back to my first sentence, If you believe a fuel gauge in you're...
