I did the install on my M923 about a year ago. I was able to open the battery box the same height as the bench seat. The only added component was a second support rod to help support the additional weight of the cover with the new seats attached. Please see my thread goldneagle's M923...
The suspension on the M1008 is not a pure K-30. I had issues with using a lift kit for the K-30 because the parts did not match the axles on the truck. Had to order square U-bolts for the rear since the kit had round ones. I guess I can use the round ones if I get those spring plates.
The added capacity of the filter does not have anything to do with the amount in the crank case where the oil pump gets the oil so engine would lube up the same at starting time.
The only truck that might have that problem would me a Deuce where the oil filter empties out when the engine is...
I have the same Milwaukee tools. Awesome tools built well. Batteries have a gauge that tells you how much charge is left -so you don't climb up on the roof and find out the battery is almost dead.
