That is the factory vent.
What we are doing is extending that vent up out of the water if you happen to be fording a stream... A lot of times, if you put it above your nose while seated in the truck you will be safe :cool:

Those upgrades definitely make the DUCKW model a lot more realistic. I wonder if the co-pilot was manning a .50 while they were "headed in" for a landing. According to a quick lookup on the web, about one in four DUKWs came with a .50-caliber Browning heavy machine...

Suggest that you come up behind the cab and put a filter on the end of your hose. That way you don't end up with dirt daubers or similar building a nest in the end of your hose.

I think dropping in two heating elements into a 55 gallon bucket of water would work well. At least for a little while. The water will heat up and the water will boil off eventually.

Awlright! Yes sir. It is pretty amazing how well it works. Ultimately, I used that trick several dozen times - culminating in the rebuild of the dryer. Found a rebuild kit and it was done in under an hour for about a hundred bucks...

A medium tow bar should work - and I would suggest that you buy one that already has "feet" on it. Don't forget that you need a pair of chains too. Those run from the back of the tow vehicle to the front of the towed vehicle - Just In Case.
