That is your opinion and has nothing to do with reality! I have used many brands of battery operated circular saws and impact drivers and they perform very close to 120 volt versions. I am talking Professional brands not Harbor Freight.
Make sure you are not missing any nuts. :doghead: Note: Do not store/place any nuts, bolts or tools on the engine when working on it. That is why they made magnetic trays and saucers for.
FYI we do not use the shackles for towing. The tow bar feet attach to the shackle mounts. You cannot stretch tow bar feet. I gave you a solution to mounting the winch platform without welding to the shackle mounts. It's even removable. But it's your ride so do as you feel is best for you.
Why would you ruin the shackle mounts just to mount the winch. You could have used some square tubing that fit over the shackle mounts that was removable by pulling a pin. That way you can remove the winch and use tow bars to pull the truck behind another MV. I use my M1008 to recover running...
I ordered some Bully BBS-1103 Aluminum Side Step - Pair from Pep Boys and picked it up in store. I installed one of them on the driver's side so I can get into the cab much easier. I plan to install the 2nd one Monday. I plan to fabricate a custom nerf bar out of heavy angle so I can attach 2...
That is not what they wrote. If that was the intended message then it should have been "I recommend you contact a moderator before posting the issue in public forum"
I see 2 moderators say contact a moderator. That is like a cop saying call the cops. Wouldn't it be easier to just contact the member and ask what you can do to assist?
Nice design and workmanship. I amy order a set of Aries Side Bars Nerf bars and see if they work. They are suppose to fit a K30. They attach at the Spring mounts on the frame.
I need to add steps to my truck since I added a 4" lift to it. Has anyone found an off the shelf nerf bar that will fit the M1008 without modifications? If not I could use some details on custom installed step.
I got the truck home today. All done with the lift. The ride is smooth and no binding when turning.
Looks like the front springs and U-bolts were correct for the front axle. The front shocks were also correct. Had to install a Super Lift 3040 Adjustable Drag Link (Summit Racing SLF-3040)...
Well mixed news today. I dropped off my truck to get the lift done. I get a call from the mechanic to tell me that the Pitman arm did not fit the front axle. It seems the front axle in FORD not Chevy design. Also the U-bolts for the front and rear axles were wrong! Ordered a Superlift...
I agree. I would drain the fuel. Then let it sit for a few days or week. Then siphon only the gas off the top and run it through a filter sock. It would be a shame to get rid of 80 gallons of fuel!
Funny you should ask! It's been 4 months now and I am finally going to complete the lifting of the truck so I can use the HMMWV tires and rims for front and back of the truck. After doing some searching on the net I decided to go with the Summit Racing 1983 CHEVROLET K30 Pro Comp Suspension...
I think it is the intank pump. Either partly clogged with debris or the hose on it is damaged or leaking. Easy fix. Replaced the hose on the pump on mine.
Had the same problem on my wrecker. Replaced the black control box and solved the problem. The contact on the solenoids get corroded and do not make good contact. After a while they get burned from arcing and it goes down hill from there.
