I had no idea that the sprag ONLY functions when the air system is charged. I looked into a bit and JWALLER is definitely correct...no air and the sprag stays in a neutral position (neither forward nor reverse). Still, that was a surprise. You learn something new each day!

Did you disconnect the front drive shaft or were the front wheels spinning? I assume you must have disconnected it. Thanks for the pics.

Contact CUCVFAN. He has one or two NOS heater kits for a 5 ton gasser or Mack. That would probably work for you. Most of the parts are the same as the deuce heater kit. I don't know anything about the price...I just know he's got them.

In terms of highway speeds, the M1008s like 50 MPH the best, but they will do 55 MPH with no problem and even 60 MPH, although I personally would not drive my truck at that speed for hours at a time. I've even had mine up to 65 MPH for a hundred yards or so in order to merge into traffic, but...

I use PowerService conditioner, but I bet Lucas makes a similar product. Even in low range you don't have power? Watch out...do not use reverse in low range. Some on here have done so with no ill effects, but, with that much weight and the torque necessary to move the load and push down...

Has anyone figured out why they would install air suspension on an M932A2 that just can't carry really heavy loads? I remember thinking about that when it came up. The truck cannot haul what an M915 can carry. I am not criticizing the truck; I love the 9 series. Just curious is all...

I have a complete 3 color camo vinyl cargo cover that WAS brand new...I had it on the truck for three months and it has been stored inside since. $250...what I paid for it. Shipping is tough...it is folded up and fairly big. I can deliver for free to Aberdeen in May.

As others have stated, there is no way they carried troops in a trailer like that. Take a look in your rearview mirror when you are driving down the road and check out how much your trailer is bouncing all over the place.
