OK, 3 in hg = 1.5 psi and 6 in hg = 3 psi so there is some pressure. my unimog U1300L has a muffler and it is as quiet as any car, but is a 366 cid turbo diesel. i guess i should measure the pressure on it. i just want a starting point to work from, i have several ideas and prototypes one of...
ok, i start this topic because i am interested in back pressure only and not really the type or kind of muffler involved. that is to say i want to scientifically experiment with various muffler systems, but want to start with knowledge of how much pressure is ok and where the power will be...
winching is at best a very dangerous operation and should involve at least 2 people. NEVER EVERuse the wince in - out lever to stop the winch, it probably won't and then you will need a new radiator or worse. you always want a operator in the cab to control the cable and someone on the ground to...
RE: Re: RE: LDT question
right kenny, the multi is a direct injection engine and these do not use glow plugs. engines with glow plugs have prechambers that the glow plug and injector are in and are usually more noisey engines having fuel knock.
basics are remove the little cover with 4 little bolts on top of the advancer housing. with the fuel shutoff pulled out rotate engine until pointer lines up with line exactly. now read timing on engine front balancer. you should turn engine in the direction it runs and just creep up on the line...
not that much missing really. kennys estimate is close, but start with 14,000 and subtract. bed 2000 engine 1400 trans is 220 by the way. looks like most of the rest is there so easily 8,000 that frame is heavier than you think. i moved just frame and 3 axles on a std rollback and it was way...
well, all i can tell you is that i was parked on level paved surface with magnetic gauge and that is what i got. i had put in 3 deg shims and did not notice the taper of the spring mount and they made almost no difference. now it reads 3 1/2+ deg and steering almost returns to straight when driving.
yes actual speed although my speedo does show just a very little slow by gps. yes these trans do break, second gear seizing and 1st / rev gear chipping and the pieces getting in other gears or bearings. i think i have solved the one..... i plan to load the truck this week and do some more testing.
i have tested both 1 hole and 2 hole injectors and there is an obvious difference in the atomization of fuel. i would never use the 1 hole injectors. also there is a real difference between new injectors and used, and at some point even though the engine seems to run ok, there is a benefit in...
this was measured using a snap-on magnetic caster/camber gauge. it went from -3/4 to +3 1/2, which if they are 4 deg i guess would make sense. (i just retorqued the u bolts)
that is the air pressure switch. sometimes the little screw inside comes loose. if that is it just take it apart and tighten screw and the leak will stop.
some people just don't understand, it's not about fixing something.
just put in the production mainshaft with needle brngs. these 2 pics should say it all. this is still the .71 gear set.
