I don't think it will necessarily add 60hp. Rather it will allow you to increase your fuel rate approx 60hp worth and still keep your EGT's down to a safe level, as long as the fluid doesn't run out and the pump keeps working. It typically uses conventional blue -20 rated washer fluid to do so.
Yep, something like that. Will probably need to do it right where the vertical post is for support, and may need to be higher to clear the front cab edge. We'll see.
I have brand new modern gear reduction starters on sale right now. 3 year warranty. Jumping the solenoid large terminals should spin the starter motor but not engage the pinion gear. Check for power on the small wire going to solenoid for +24v when held in crank. Applying +24v to the...
Perfect, thanks. Don't need much, will split booth cost for that day. Commission if you sell product while I go for copter rides (is that going to be there again? Where else can you ride in a UH-1 for $100?). -CM
I saw TM America is fabbing alternator brackets for various engines. Not sure if can be purchased separately. Work looked good in the "What Do You Build?" section.
0.1V drop is normal through cable. You're good. We tested a 160A alternator on a 12V system with factory wiring to have a full 1V drop when pushing the full 160A. This is the exact reason some alternators offer remote voltage sensing.
I'll be there with modern starters and alternators for LDT/S, NHC-250, and 6CTA8.3, in both 12V and 24V, on Sat only. Looking to split 1/2 booth cost/space with somebody for that day. Pricing will be similar as posted, but no shipping. Frequent flyer discount for repeat customers. No senior...
I just acquired one of these M35A2 cargo bed heater kits. Complete NOS in original wood crate. Includes external cage, heater, control box, fuel pump, fuel filter, etc.... PM me if interested, price in classifieds.
Due to the sudden popularity of my 130 amp 24v alternator, I have investigated and found the "civilian" alternator bracket mount for the Cummins 855/NHC-250. It is Cummins p/n 218505. This is the lower mount that bolts to the block via 3 fasteners. This bracket will/should adapt a standard...
The boom is done, as pictured. Next step is to remove the bed to set the rear hydro winch in place, cut an access door in the bed floor, and then route the cable up and over the cab. That has not happened yet. I'll have to develop some type of pole for the cable to go up and over the cab.
Hey, your avatar porch light was out when I posted that! You are joining the cool kids club with what we traded, and you'll be the only one on the board to be running both.
From the pic, the short belt trick is spinning the water pump backwards. But, that is probably better than not spinning it at all. Multiple V belts were used on the Cummins NHC-250 engine. A single 8 rib serpentine belt is used on the Cummins 8.3L engine.
All correct. A 100% fully charged healthy 12v flooded lead acid battery will display 12.8v OCV (open circuit voltage). This is after any surface charge has been removed. Surface charge is an superficial voltage above 12.8 that is really not of use, turn headlamps on for 60 seconds to remove...
The frame of the truck does not extend all the way to the back of the bed. This is how the pintle hitch is tucked under the bed, as that is the final cross-member, right at the end of the frame rails. This is located 1 foot in from the rear bed edge (tailgate), and where I would fabricate my...
Math looks ok. Bed length would effectively be 13' in length in this specific case for calculations only, because the hinges would be at the end of the frame rails, which are set in exactly 1 foot from the end of the bed. From this perspective, one can ignore the extra foot that hangs past the...
