Thanks for the advice. I checked all of my breather vents and the leaking axle's was plugged. I cleaned it, checked the fluid and it was a little high. The leak is not as bad now (not as much to leak out I guess) but it's still a Class 3. I checked the other axles and they are high as well...
Clinto,
I've got some maintenance to perform but if all goes well, there's not much keeping me from the Rally!!!! I plan on doing a good -20 level check this weekend. The leaking axle was easy to identify but it didn't start until sometime in the last 20 miles of the trip. Other than that...
I searched and BFR did a great writeup / how to concerning replacing rear axle seals. The question I have is why is my axle leaking back through the brake drums? Is the keyway cork or RTV not applied properly as I see no other way for it to leak this way? Or do I have a more serious problem...
For what it's worth, Mine was listed as "does not start" and when I put some new batteries in it, it fired up within 2 seconds. The ads on GL can be misleading, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Make sure to preview it or request that a fellow SS member can check it out for you.
Can't speak for Kentucky but the tag office in GA said that my "bill of sale" (invoice) would grant me 30 days. Of course, like you are planning, I had my invoice and proof of insurance in the cab with me today on my recovery!!!!!!!!! Went well but plugged the primary fuel filter with water...
Got my truck today and even better she's a runner. I put new batteries in and turned her over for about 2 seconds and she started. She stalled after about ten seconds but started right back up and drove back to my property here in Leesburg, GA (120 miles). No issues other than a class 3 leak...
I would like to thank jward1 for PMing me his contact info!!! I've noticed that this forum seems to be a tight knit group of people wanting to help each other in support of the hobby of Green Stuff which is great for me being new to the hobby. I've loved and driven the Green Stuff for a while...
Any members located around the Dale, Alabama / Ft. Rucker area. I'm recovering a m35A2 on Wednesday and may need a possible breakdown point / recovery drop off. Of course, I'm hoping for a smooth recovery as the truck is in decent shape but you never know what might happen 10 feet out the...
EUC from 4737 Lot 6362 approved and paid in full invoice received today!!!!!! GEICO Insurance purchased and ready for Wednesday the 23rd to pick up from Ft. Rucker. This truck fell in the group on hold.
Good find and I'm happy to know there's another Tanker on here. Were you a 19 Kilo or a Marine??? I took M1's to Iraq twice, once driving and loading during the invasion and a second tour as a gunner and later TC. Tanker's lead the Way!!!
Well, our old Deuces must go pretty soon. This drill weekend, we PMCS'd all 14 or our M35's and 109's and ran them on a 20 mile loop through the country. All worked pretty good except for A4 (bumper number) which never left the yard as it had no brakes. Some were a little hesitant to start...
Just wanting a rough quote of transporting a M35A2 from Fort Rucker, Al to Albany, GA. The truck is a runner with a jump but I have concerns recovering a truck that I've only done a -10 PMCS on before buying. I figure that for the cost of having it transported would be made up by letting it...
I almost put a bid in on the Warner Robins deuce but it went over $1000 pretty quick. I was thinking if I had 2 EUC's waiting, I'd get my 4737 6362 a little quicker. EUC sent to BC on 22 October and still playing the waiting / my truck is on hold game. I was surprised by the prices...
Also, I forgot to mention, Not saying Murphy was the one provided with all he should have needed tightening those bolts. He lives amongst this community.
As a manager over rebuilds at MCLB Albany, I can honestly say, torque wrench's are calibrated to a schedule, bolts are of the highest quality and trend analysis of failure's are tracked extensively. If there is a problem, we notice it quickly and I know of a few rebuilt trucks that slipped out...
M725,
Nicely put. I thought I'd start a frenzy on here but had every intention of coming clean with it in a day. MCLB Albany does have 3 of them left but they are in outside storage and the plan is to take the best parts of the 3 and restore one to donate to a museum. They are all poly...
Just to satisfy the Jeeps in a crate comments. There are 3 Jeeps in crates at MCLB Albany in the corner of a warehouse. Fine examples of Govt. efficiency, they were receipted for in the 50's, "sent to units" in the 60's, DRMO'd and crushed according to all of their paperwork yet still sit in...
To have my fellow Marine Base employees ask me "What are you going to do with it?" and to see the look on their face when I say "Drive it to work." Then be challenged with "Will they let you register it on base and get a decal?" I've already had plenty of offers for a truck that sits in Ft...
