Yessir, looks like it ate a glowplug.
Like @spankybear said, roll the engine down (piston down) and see what your cylinder wall looks like. If that isn't terribly scarred, you might be okay...

Most trucks used a lock and chain. Chain goes through the steering wheel and loops around the brake peddle. Some outfits have a chain welded to the seat base and chain goes around the wheel as well...

Those "Most Stuff" Oreos are amazing!
Sounds like you had a pretty good run for the house.
That troop alarm would have driven me bonkers!
Glad to know that you made it home - safe and sound!

I don't think running your winch on 24v is going to be a good thing...
Thinking you would do much better with an equalizer that could / would push enough amps to run the 12v winch off of. Something like the picture below maybe?
Wired up something like the picture below...

Sounds like a regular suicide jockey to me. :sneaky: I've not done any driving in a wrecker other than as a civilian. Sounds like a heck of an adventure though. My time was spent on a large gray cruise ship.

Yessir! There have been quite a few wreckers with covers. They have the pockets for Bows and thinking about it - having that cover on the back - helps make it less of a target in a hostile area...

Welcome to the Outfit!
Sweet Looking wrecker...
Glad to hear that you have a motor sergeant willing to work with you! Yep, knowing the TM's (Technical Manuals) will be a good thing. We host those files here if you need to pour over one or several...

Distribution is LIMITED to U.S. Government agencies only
On the other hand, YOU might have the ability to get those manuals.
They generally are not paper manuals though.
Especially if you got them using the "lend lease act" or whatever they call it today...

Welcome to the Outfit!
Seems that @kendelrio beat me to the punch on the TM's (Technical Manuals).
You have a mighty fine looking Deuce.
Don't hesitate to post a few more pics!

Gear Oil 80w90 , 1.6 quarts dry.
Rotate the axle where the drain / fill is at the bottom. Drain accordingly, then rotate, refilling with about 1.5 quarts of 80w90
