    Coolant Temperature Gauge Woes...

. So, it sounds to me like you have already metered the wires and I saw "visual inspection" too. If you happen to have a spool of 14 gauge wire, what about going out back and disconnecting the sending unit, add attach your new wire, then go back behind the "panel" and hook the other end of your...

    North American Electric Vehicles

. I believe it's a different guy. The JerryRigEverything had a HMMWV in the videos that I found. The member here is @Johnbyrdgates and his is a M37. I found his build thread here. Below is a picture of the motor with the standard M37 transmission behind it.

    North American Electric Vehicles

. Ahhh... Makes more sense. Guess I should have read a little more. We do have a member here with a M37 who got a tesla motor and battery affixed and he has that functional. Yessir, EV power and performance can be amazing. Personally, my opinion is that our electrical grid isn't ready for...

    North American Electric Vehicles

. I only have hearsay, but the IBEW electricians in the civilian Hummer plant tell me that they are building electric vehicles there... No info was discussed about how many but they are setting up a line to produce them.

New member here in Hawaii, soon to be back on the mainland

. I would like to move out there, but it isn't in my plans. I think is was @DD58 who was planning to move to Hawaii

. Wow! At that rate then, California should be using that baked clay material to help combat the fires there. I had always thought that the terracotta roofs - keeping embers off the roof - was the reason WHY those roofs were used. Thanks for the info @SSgt Bang !

    Help - Fuel gauge troubleshooting

. @Mogman did even better than I did. If you can find the wire tag (little aluminum band - with a number on it) you can test the gauge with his instructions. Still need to meter out the wire that runs from the gauge to the tank too.

    Help - Fuel gauge troubleshooting

. You have good logic. The only thing you might do is to follow the tank sending unit wire to both ends. One should end up attached to the fuel tank and the other end should attach to the gauge. Disconnect on both ends and use a continuity meter and confirm that the wire is good. That is the...

    MEP 803 stencils

. Remember too - like @Guyfang mentioned - The military has absolutely NO CONCERN with stencils being different on a machine. Stencils are hand punched on a machine (generally) and if a stencil cutter dies, a new one is ordered or "lifted" from some other shop and that becomes the spec.

LMTV self cancelling turn signal adjustment

. I saved the instructions on the self-cancelling ring and "how to".

MEP-002A Exhaust Question plus Machine Resurrection

. Steel Wool stuffed onto openings will help with that problem as well. Apparently the little "so and so's" don't like to chew on the wire. That stuff is relatively cheap at a hardware store too...

. And something possibly to do with the color of blue on rooftops possibly? Seems like some places were completely wiped out, and others weren't touched. .

S280 shelter removal from m35a2 without a lift, any ideas?

. Yes Sir! A dock would be a wonderful way to do that job! .

. Happy Pup! That is a smile for sure :)

    NDT 9.00-20 tire lifespan

. Hate to admit it, but our search engine (for the software that drives this site) isn't all that good. There. Politically correct without bashing it - even though it is pretty expensive... Most of the time, searching with your favorite search engine and you will be much happier. Example...

S280 shelter removal from m35a2 without a lift, any ideas?

. Quick look shows some versions of the S280 at about 1600# so my question is are your ramps heavy enough? Should you "block up" the middle of the ramps to support the "weight in the middle? I'm spoiled rotten having a crane here... I would hate to have your ramps collapse with the shelter...

What have you done WITH your FMTV ( trips, Rescues etc) NOT: fixes, updates etc

. Is that the Co-Pilot ducking down - or just hanging on for dear life? Can't beat that million dollar smile! .

Do I need all these wires?

. Chances are the wires were for radios and if they are colored wires, chances are even better that you don't need them. Factory won't have "extra" wiring hanging from the battery terminals...

    Must Have's for New Deuce?

. Company that I worked for back in the 80's welded a flat plate on pallets of new Dog Bones. Deuce and 5-Tons got the same treatment. The metal was "Plug Welded" in a 3/4 inch hole, then quenched in water with the idea that the quench helped keep the rubber from separating from the steel. It...

    G749 preservation

. Wow! It looks like that was a really nice gathering of like-minded adventurers. Lots of nice toys to look at too... The four and six wheelers and things that go bang sure were impressive! .
