Did you pull the plug like Doghead mentioned ? It is a square head pipe plug in the very back of the "air-pack" (booster) .
The plug is on the left side.
Check the length of the new bearing (basically a bronze bushing) to the old bearing. Also did you only add one spacer ? Make sure the impeller and shaft are totally clean of all debris and residue. Also check the thickness of the thrust plates compared to the old ones. Maybe you received the...
Just to clarify for you, he means the engine running with "NO" brake applied. There should be no air at this time. If there is air present then the "air control valve" is not working correctly. Could be gummed up.
That video is extremely steady. What make of drone do you have ? Also where were you standing when you where controlling the drone ? I couldn't see you.
One of my next projects is to have a front crane on the deuce. There is of course the military version which is nice but I wanted one like you with a heavier load ability and still movable. One of the first things that must be done is to "reinforce the front axle with an axle "truss" . There are...
Totally agree here. There are a thousand and one things that can squeak, squeal, squawk, and generally make a racket on our trucks or any vehicle for that matter. Start with the basics, then work your way up. First get it running, then see what is squealing.
The first problem you have is the deuce has six lug nuts so you would need to install a 5 ton differential in there. Second I don't think you will have enough room for that wide of tires.
That is why I only install complete engine assemblies which include the transmission when modifying from factory. I learned that lesson the hard way decades ago.
Well according to "Diesel World" it is a forgone conclusion that dual rear wheels will help traction on any truck. That is why all the big trucks run duals now. From sled pulling to off-roading.
Sorry you had to deal with that.
I would love to be able to help you. If only I lived anywhere near you. I'm sure there are plenty of mechanics here on this site who think the same.
I would tend to agree with the king pins being bad. There are several companies making a new bushing for the Chevy king pins eliminating the "plastic" one with a solid "bronze" one. I plan on doing this fix this summer.
Most people don't realize how efficient the cooling system is in the MultiFuel Deuce. Unless your running your truck up the great divide (Rocky Mountains) fully loaded in high summer then there is no need to ever take out the thermostat. I wouldn't even take it out then unless it was stucked closed.
