OK, lets look at an engine under load (or torque) . Which way is the engine turning ? When your looking at the front of an engine the crank is turning clockwise. Or when your sitting in the drivers seat the engine is turning counter-clock-wise. This means when the engine is under heavy load or...
Your suppose to run the winch on a regular basis. It's called exercising the equipment. If you do this then the oil is able to coat all the parts. It's when the winch is almost never used that the rust develops. When I was still in the Marines we would regularly take out all the equipment and...
Well then you would know (living under the laws of physics) that anything added to our trucks to increase it's strength is a "good" thing and not a "bad" thing. So why argue about something "good" ? Unless of course you just like to argue. I will ask you just one question though. Considering how...
Due to the excessive weight of the cast iron NP205 transfer-case GM installed those brace rods. Later when they went to the lighter aluminum 208 transfer-case they felt they didn't need them anymore, though they still had the two bolt holes drilled and tapped out. The two front braces are to...
You cannot get rid of all your green Iron !!!! At the very least keep the 5 ton !!!! Just think how much you can haul in it ! Makes moving much easier !
Actually Stainless Steel is the best type of bolt/nut to use on aluminum. When I was building deck winches at Kolstrand Marine all the bolts and nuts where stainless steel. Anything else would corrode so bad it wouldn't last a week out on the ocean !!!
I used to lend out some of my tools to the neighbors. Then they started abusing the privilege by keeping them ! My memory is not what it was and I would forget that I had lent out a tool. Then later when I was looking for it I would remember that the neighbor had asked to borrow it last year ...
WOW !!!! You have spent a pretty coin here on all that stuff !!!! I do like the idea of replacing all the torque rods though. So many people don't realize the effects just changing out one at a time does to the rest of the suspension. You must replace them in sets or don't replace them at all. I...
Your correct when you say "if it's clean and locked in properly" . The problem is the rings need to be replaced on a regular basis due to fatigue since they are "hardened" steel. Most people today don't even know what to look for on the rings let alone having them clean and rust free. They are...
No your correct. Filters are sized to meet the engines needs even when dirty. A marginal filter when new will not meet the engines needs when dirty. Then the engine will start to suck harder causing all kinds of problems in the crankcase and elsewhere.
If a person uses common sense and all the safety precautions, then why not keep the wheels. They are great for off road use where you might need to replace a tire and don't have a tire machine handy. In todays litigious society where you can get sued for just looking at someone funny these...
Use this diagram and you will be OK. I don't know how your connected to the governor.
The diagram you posted in Post# 140 is correct. I was thinking about your "T" connection when I posted earlier.
